As was previously confirmed, we deeply regret that both Universal and Fox did not choose to move forward with financing the Halo film under the original terms of the agreement. At this time Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, along with their partner, Microsoft, have mutually agreed to postpone making a feature film based on the Halo video game universe until we can fulfill the promise we made to millions of Halo fans throughout the world that we would settle for no less than bringing a first class film to the big screen. We are fully supportive of Director Neill Blomkamp's vision of the film. Neill is a tremendously gifted filmmaker and his preliminary work on Halo is truly awe-inspiring. While it will undoubtedly take a little longer for Halo to reach the big screen, we are confident that the final feature film will be well worth the wait.
well i mean realy. they picked like a newbie first time director to helm it, and then asked for HOW much money to make it?
they should pick a new director, then try again.
i think they could shave a bunch of money off the total cost by removing all dialogue from the film, because then they could just hire stunt people instead of actors, plus its halo... doesnt have any plot or anything that needs dialogue anyway... and it would mean more action/cgi/explosions (which is the only reason anyones going to see this anyway), which would make the movie way better.
Found this on youtube and I think its pretty impressive for a usermade video! Sounds just like what you would expect from the official movie trailer but unfortunately the video is of the game lol. Still good I think!
for how it turned out, honestly, a choice between film based on a crappy game franchise vs. district 9, one of the film hilights of the year, i don't see much competition here
i would just love to see what he could do with halo and a 150 million dollar budget. i can say this because i am in no way invested in seeing halo be great, nor is it my money. id just be really curious to see what he'd come up with.
Apparently while filming another scene a stuntman died and they had to replace the scenes in a hurry, because his family forbid using them (as far as I know).
