And now it won't boot Sad Laughing

Nothing I never did before, take the cpu out, put some thermal paste, same with gpu.

There was so much dust too, first time I ever cleaned this one and it's been like 3-4 years. And now I will pay for my mistake Sad So much for cleaning.

ps life sucks

Why would you remove the CPU? Use vacuum cleaner to clean the fan and around, but why in the world would you remove the CPU? Do you think there is dust inside the socket?

Anyway, what seems to be the problem exactly? Won't power on? Won't POST? ... You need to give more details.

Triple checked everything, the tension is killing me! I would pay somebody right now if I only knew what the problem is.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

And I don't have a beeper (speaker), or maybe I do but it's not connected. Or maybe my casing doesn't have one, the motherboard does support it. If at least I had that we could communicate, 1 beep followed by 4 beeps is 'complete hardware failure' Sad now that would be embarrassing.

Well replacing the paste after so many years is recommended.

Anyway if you told me that before I wouldn't have touched it Sad

The mobo gives a nice green light like nothing is wrong, the screen is dead black, after that no movement, no hard drive or anything, I think I had that before and it turned out my gpu wasn't 'seated' properly in the slot but this mobo has lights for every socket and they turn red if there is bad connection. This behaviour could also mean something is wrong with the cpu or memory but I didn't touch the memory.

I will try and find the speaker connectors but I can't seem to locate them, maybe the beeps will tell me something.

Again, any leds lighting up on ur board before pressing the power button? after pressing it any fans spin for a second? lights? noises, clicks?

Try reinserting the rams, try checking any jumpers that you may have moved or forgotten, reconnect all PSU to board cables. etc.

In my case after a complete reassembly it usually lights up for a second or the fans try spinning and shut down immediately, ends up with me reinserting the memory sticks

You didn't damage one of the pins in the CPU socket did you?

One of the previous motherboards I had wouldn't work at all and eventually I found that a few of those pins were bent, had to send it back but it was processed fairly quickly and without further problems.

Power cables and such should also be checked but if everything lits up on the motherboard that's probably not it either and you normally hear a sound or such matching the various warning beeps if something is wrong.

Speaking of power were you using proper care as to not get static electricity in any component, chance is fairly low but it can happen.

Bios didn't die either did it?
(Some motherboards have that little battery for it but that shouldn't matter and most buttons on more advanced motherboards simply reset the CMOS or switch to a secondary bios, they don't dump the thing, heh.)

Unsure what else to suggest, there usually isn't much.
(That little connector for all those case cables is properly attached? proper seating for the fan cables and all that? no cracks or other visible damage on any component?)

Hah, well if left to try it shouldn't cause any major damage unless the water pressure damages something, trying to connect the computer while it's still damp would probably be quite dangerous.
(And there's probably some components that don't quite like water or other leading fluids on them, apparently oil cooling was popular some years ago though cumbersome it was apparently pretty effective.)

Before i do any thing to PC i discharging power supply.

Just unplug power cable and press power button fans will spin.

Power supply can hold deadly charge for quite long time depending on how its made.

I hope I'm not that stupid Sad I checked all the pins under a light, everything seems to be in place.

Maybe I'll try cmos resetting. Or just give up and bite the bullet, have it checked out by someone, I'm tired of searching for ghosts.

The light is always green, a shame about the speaker though.

Will try the ram, all cables connected.

Maybe it's my psu I disassembled that as well it was getting rather noisy, then again how could I have messed up a psu Confused

If it's not one of the RAM sticks not being fully inserted it sounds like a grounding problem to me.

The first thing I would do is disconnect everything that is not needed to boot, reconnect everything that is needed and then test, also swap the RAM around in case one has become faulty.

Here is a list of things you can try: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-13-read-posting-boot-problems

Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, Zotac RTX 3060 Ti, Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms GTG IPS FreeSync KVM

and remove the mobo battery and wait about 30s before you put it back in and most mobos have a reset bios jumper, try that as well.

And, using a vacuum cleaner to clean a computer is a good way to get a static discharge..

Used to use the vacuum all the time, until one day...

Yup, compressor (don't know if it's the correct term in english) or a compressed air can is the way to go.

Although if you do use a compressor, try to check if it was used with oil or any other liquid / there is moist inside the deposit BEFORE starting to clean the computer Laughing

Bah, I give up. Like playing an adventure game and trying to solve something then giving up after 8 hours and taking a peek in the walkthrough, I just want to know what the smegging solution, or problem, is. Don't want to pay but have no choice.

Time for professionals to take a look at it, I'm leaving in shame Sad and to think all those people used to call me to fix their comps Laughing suckers, you lucky I didn't break your mobo or something.

I found the receipt, payed for this comp almost 5 years ago and this is the first time I cleaned it, that's the thanks I get Sad worked flawlessly up until now, best comp I ever had, hand-picked components, only thing I changed was the gpu and memory and maybe the psu.

Please be the psu Sad cpu is fine as well. Bent pin would be ideal Smile

I'm guessing you know this, but a friend had the same problem couple of weeks ago so I feel like mentioning it: Don't forget to plug in the 12V power cable, it's the small 4- or 8-pin cable going into the motherboard. People seem to forget that one for some reason.
