As predicted, more companies are starting to see the success of Kickstarter and see a final chance to get some old project of theirs done and Big Finish Games, consisting of several people behind the old Tex Murphy series, want to join in:
In two months, they'll start the Kickstarter action, collecting ideas and letting the hype machine grind into action until then.
Am I excited? Hell yeah - Under A Killing Moon blew me away at the time and it's still a highly enjoyable game to play. How many adventure games today properly use a first person 3D engine to make you hunt for clues as a detective?
I'm glad they're waiting a couple months. I think that's going to be one problem with Kickstarter, too many companies getting Kickstarter fever and stepping on each others toes by posting their projects at the same time, potentially resulting in less money for everyone when fans on a budget have to pick and choose who to support.
But about the game...I never played any of the previous ones. It looks like comedic detective stories in a Blade Runner type of setting?

yea, i'd like to know more what they want to do with it
fmv adventures were always really awkward and now even more so
but a 3d point&click future-noir comedy adventure, and i'm aboard
There were a few others, most notably Gabriel Knight 2. I don't know whether Blade Runner counts as a FMV adventure, too.
+1. I really miss old school FMVs. Thought I'd give a shout out to Phantasmagoria, Mission Critical, The 7th Guest, Realms of the Haunting, C&C, and Wing Commander 4 too. Man, it's so weird that there was no ESRB back then, they would have had a field day with Phantasmagoria 2.
The three FMV games. They are considered to be the few good FMV games to have been made. I recommend playing them.
I'd go even further - Pandora Directive is one of the best adventure games I've ever played. Not to mention that, among other things, they featured a fully explorable 3d environment, unlike pretty much every other FMV game at the time.
The new game looks pretty amazing, by the way - really looking forward to it.

Harvester would've required a whole new rating. For instance, there was a scene where
Richard Benson: " Durante tutta la mia esistenza, ho avuto sempre un sogno...
(Throughout my whole existence, I've always had a dream...)
Loving fan: "un cazzo 'n culo!"
(A cock deep inside your ass!)

I'm more excited about this game than any other Kickstarter game - I've been waiting almost 20 years for this sequel
