F1 2012 will launch in September for PS3, 360 and PC, Codemasters announced today, 13 hours before the start of the first qualifying session of the 2012 Formula One season in Melbourne, Australia.
The publisher announced a multi-year extension to continue being the exclusive provider of Formula One titles earlier this week.
The game will feature a Young Driver’s Test mode, giving players tutorials on how to handle an F1 car and challenge for a drive in the Formula One World Championship.
Also confirmed are “new features, wide-ranging technical and gameplay advancements and extensive competitive and co-operative multiplayer components,” as well as the inclusion of Austin for the US Grand Prix near the end of the year and the return of Hockenheim for the German Grand Prix.
New year, new F1 game from Coderpmasters, complete of amazing new skins and exciting physics engine
F1 2012's handling is aiming to strike a middle note, somewhere between the cars of F1 2010 that turned on a pin and those of last year that would happily spin around it. If there's one word that defines the new model, it's perhaps accessibility - and that's a word that defines much else of what's new in F1 2012.

What I do want to do is get more people who are into motorsport, or used to be into F1 and don't know the ins and outs, the rules, the complexity and all the toys, and get them into the game. F1 still comes across as a scary sport. The commentator does a great job of explaining these things, and we need to do more of that in the game.

Why not? They can market it to casuals.
But seriously, I almost had high hopes for this series when it came out. Driving model was fun, they just needed to fix couple of things and it would become a nice arcade driving game. Instead of that they fixed nothing, added unneeded stuff that didn't work and even tuned down graphics and physics engine. What we are left with is arcade f1 game full with bugs that drives better on gamepad than on wheel.
I'm thinking about buying this one.. played a lot in the 2010 and 11..
And i'm happy that the game isn't a simulator.. staying 50 minutes trying to make a car stay competitive like in Grand Prix was a pain in the ass.. i just want a game that i can in 10 minutes change what i think it's necessary and play.
It has its flaws.. especially on the AI, but there are a lot of mods that fix this.. 2011 had an awesome AI mod
