this morning i had to lay in a mri for the first time, for my 2 fucked up knees , around 25 minutes EACH.

OMG thats really not fun at all lol. Cant move (ever had an itch you cant scratch ?^^. + The noise aahh.

Back story : some year+ ago, i took a steel barrier to my knees (at my job as bouncer, 300 people pushing on the other side ^^), knees swollen up and hurt ever since, having a hard time with stairs , up or down, knees almost give out everytime and hurt.

Turns out (what i heard so far), some of the cartilage in both knees has been damaged from that said impact, have to see with my doctor whats next :/ Sure hope its fixable tho.

2 floors (concerts, electronic music (all sorts) etc, total place around 1500-1700 people.

there is also a bar, a cinema, a theatre, plenty of ateliers etc.

I am asleep. Wake me up.
I've had it last year, apart from the extreme noise I didn't find it that bad (as long as you don't suffer from claustrophobia Razz). It was my fifth mri after the ones on both my ankles and knees (thanks to football and tennis Laughing)

Oh and good luck Sin, let's hope you can fix all the problems Smile

well, not even sure something can be done. But i hope. It sucks having your knees "let out" whenever you stand up, climb or descend stairs stairs (i can do it of course, but its with a certain amount of pain and using other muscles of my legs to "replace" the missing "resistance" in the knees.

it does suck, yes Sad

that sucks sin Sad i know a girl who wrecked her knees skateboarding. now she goes in on a schedule (quarterly i think?) for synthetic lubricant injections to replace/make up for the damaged cartilage. her symptoms are exactly like yours though (knees randomly 'blow out', stairs are far more trouble than they should be etc). ill try to ask for more details next time i talk to her. she is in america so they might have different options/practices than what you have...

that would be great yes, i'd like to know, what kinda treatments i could use/have that would help (i fear no operation can actually "fix" this).

yeah im under the impression from what she told me that there is no operation or 'fix' for this...just regular treatment to alleviate some of the symptoms. we didnt talk extensively about it, she only mentioned it because she was a bit scared to go in for her first injections. this was about two months ago now so ill ask her again about the injection, how/if it helped and how often she has to go in for them.

ok man i just talked to her. she said there was a surgery option but she is too far gone for that. you might not be though. she has been getting cortisone shots, but they only last a month or two before you need more, and you cant just keep getting them over and over for whatever reason...the thing she is hoping for is called hyaluronic fluid joint replacement (she mentioned supartz and synvisc). that will apparently fix the problem for a few years at a time (and from the sound of it you can go back for more eventually). the problem for her (in america) is that they will cost her $3000 each, and she is already buried in other medical bills and simply cant afford to get them Sad hopefully its different where you are. hopefully some of this info helps/gives you something to research a bit before you go back to the doctor. good luck Smile

Damage to the knees really sucks since you'll keep having problems for the rest of your life. Hopefully it's some minor damage, since knee pains can cripple a man in the long run.
