Go for it if you want to learn computer science. All courses are hosted on youtube, the webpage is really easy to use and it features quizes and homework.

David Evans is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Virginia where he teaches computer science and leads research in computer security. He is the author of an introductory computer science textbook and has won Virginia's highest award for university faculty. He has PhD, SM, and SB degrees from MIT.
Sebastian Thrun is a Research Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, a Google Fellow, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the German Academy of Sciences. Thrun is best known for his research in robotics and machine learning, specifically his work with self-driving cars.
Nearly done with Unit1, finding it hard to re-wrap my mind creatively around concepts I haven't read about for ~15 years - and it was just a short course back then as well. Not giving up though, always wanted to pick up programming again so this could be just the primer I need to get started
So I gazed through the website and there was some information about the exams and assignments which lead me to a question. After finishing the courses, You get some kind of a certificate?

Hey sounds really great! I did not have the time to do the first homework (I did it a little bit too late! :'( )

I believe so, but I haven't looked for confirmation as I'm primarily after a nice intro.

According to the forums, the lowest scoring homework assignment will not count towards your final grade, so just make sure you don't miss another one and you're good to go

Recent publicity is causing many students to want to join the class late. We want to give these students a fair chance to do well in the class, so we have decided to keep registration open and modify our grading policy so there will be now be two ways of computing your final grade:
1. The original way: 50% for the homework (dropping your lowest homework grade and counting each of the five remaining homework assignments equally), and 50% for the final exam.
2. The final exam counts for 100% of your grade.
For each student, we will use whichever way of grading gives you the highest score. This means you will have a chance to make up for low scores on more than one homework by doing well on the final, but will still benefit from all of your hard work on the homework assignments if you have high homework scores.
