I cant change the game 1280x720 default resolution.
Left or right it just doesn´t change...
Tried editing the C:\Users\******\Documents\Remedy\AlanWake\resolution.xml file but it didnt help.

Because everytime I used the x64 version there ís alaways an app that I need to use for whatever reason that doesn´t work in the x64 version.
So I always regret giving another try to the x64 version...

weird, since x64 supports 32 usually (at least from what i know). It has both 32 bit AND 64 bit system files (system32 and sysWOW64) and even folders for either 32bit (C:\Program Files (x86)) and x64 (and support compatibility mode back to nt 4.0 (including all versions of windows, 95/98/Me/2000/xp all sp etc etc).
you should give it another try i think and buy some more ram ^^

Have you tried right clicking and running the exe file as administrator?
(Or maybe you have UAC disabled, was just thinking it might be a permission issue but then again editing the config file manually should work, have you tried write protecting it?)

Problem solved thanks to the following commands posted in the Alan Wake board:
-w screen width (e.g. -w1280)
-h screen height (e.g. -h720)
