My heartfelt sorrow for what you, your brother and your family are going through!
You mentioned he was handicapped, what exactly is his condition?

@ Nhiumewyn, No it's not cancer. More like the flu with his lungs as a target.

What are the doctors telling you? As far as chances of survival?

Seems logical but at times like these it may go over your head.

Hope some sort of miracle happens. If not, let's hope it all ends painlessly and he dies peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Uhm, I don't know if it's proper English, but he has moisture and slime in his lungs. They can't suck it out and he has an infection too in his lungs. They test results from the morning showed it is only getting worse...this is difficult to say..but he is going to pass away within a few days
They will built up the morphine (0.5 now) until, well, until it's over.
We wanted to get him home, bunt since he gets 15 liters of oxygen it's not possible. If we transport him home, the hospitals vehicle can't deliver more then 6 liters. He will be gone then before we even get home.
It's now night here and I'm still here to watch him, because my mom needs some sleep and it's very difficult to understand he will be out of our lives within a few days. I keep thinking I'm going to visit him next week, just like I did before...but that is not going to happen...it feels like I'm in a movie...a very bad one

I'm sure he's going to take your comment, print it out, and show it to the doctors who realizes their grave mistake. Come on, man. |
I'm not criticizing the doctors, I'm stating my personal opinion that in cases like this is generally preferable to continue interned than to go home. |
Cases like what? Your level of presumption about this astounds me. You. Have no clue what is going on nor should u. Anyway stopping this in the takeoff lane. My condolences aeonfast. |
He did mention that it was a serious condition, and it was affecting his lungs, obviously it can be a myriad of things, he also did mention that he is currently taking morphine, which is known to weaken the cardiovascular system, regardless of what the diagnosis may be, the facts are that his brother is in a severe condition with a pathology which debilitates his ability to breathe and taking a drug that is known to cripple the cardiovascular system, more specifically the heart.
Obviously the doctors and aeonfast have more information that any of us here, I have an opinion based in the information that was shared in this post, and that's what I expressed, I don't see a need to be so angry about it as you just did.
Anyway, I wish his condition improves and all this turns for the better.

Jeez,
Aeon, I've been through something similar before with a family member, it can be so hard but just remember the good times, laugh about them before he goes, let him know he's loved and won't be forgotten.
It does so much more than you can imagine.
My thoughts are with you guys.

And thanks guys for the compassion. I think the most difficult part has still/yet to come though.
