Since there's a movie thread why not make a music one Razz

What albums/songs have you been listing and how would you rate them?

Albums:
Silver Sunshine: Silver Sunshine - 8.0 (beatlesque, intersting band)
Bright Eyes: Digital Ash in a Digital Urn - 9.0 (great music)
Rise Against: Songs the Counter Culture - 8.0 (some good songs)
Green Day: American Idiot - 9.0 (a bunch of great songs)
Stroke 9: All In - 8.5 (Odd but good music)
Unwritten Law: Here's To The Mourning - 6.5 (some good songs, but over all could have been a lot better.)
Collective Soul: Youth - 7.5 (A few stand out songs but some crap too)

Songs:
The Exies - Tired of You - 9.0 (pop, reminds me a little of "the reason"...)
Lifehouse - You and Me - 6.5 (I love lifehouse but this is a bit soft and girly...)
Black Label Society - In this River - 8.5 (like the vocals...)
Breaking Benjamin - Forget It - 9.0 (classic song)

I guess that's it for now Razz

so what are you all listening to!

I'm not going to ramble about many albums, but one that has stayed on my playlist for some time now (recently I was able to get a CD and rip it to 520kbps OGG), is Rammstein's Mutter.

The music is great, and from what I read the lyrics are good as well (I don't speak geman, maybe I will learn it at a later point).

01. Mein Herz Brennt (My Heart Burns): It's impossible not to love this song. The intro sounds like a radio broadcast circa 1930, the rest of the song is superb. 10/10

02. Links 2-3-4 (Left 2-3-4): Great overall song, though the theme was not precisely my favorite (music, not lyrics). 7/10

03. Sonne (Sun): This has to be my favorite song on the album. The impression is simultaneously heroic and grim. Brilliant. 11/10

04. Ich Will (I want): The Lyrics pull this song up to par with the other songs. It seems to start for ~1:40. After that the fast-paced music and the audience feedback (I presume it's taken from a live concert), is great. 8/10

05. Feuer Frei (Free Fire/Fire at will): This song is the opening to xXx, and it's the first I heard of Rammstein. The song is great itself, but once you see it live with the pyrotechnics, it becomes worthless without them. Watch xXx if you want an idea of what this looks like. 9/10

06. Mutter (Mother): The one song I found saddening on the disc. It's not a bad song, by any means, but it's theme is pretty sad, both in melody and lyrics. Somewhat repetitive after listening to the album ~70 times. 6/10

07. Spieluhr (Music Box): This is up there with Sonne. Opens like a fairy tale, which gives a very subtle malicious feeling knowing what album it's on... also one of the best, if not the best, melody on the album. 10/10

08. Zwitter (Hermaphrodite): The name itself is enough to turn stomachs, and the song isn't much different. Call it the scapegoat, but this is definitely the black sheep on the album. Nice drums, but the melody is inconsistent and sub-par. In any case, I'd take this over a Top50 track any day. 5/10

09. Rein Raus (In-Out): This is a great song if you're a fan of hard metal. Probably the third-best song on the album. Great melody, opening that would appeal to fans of *ack* Linkin Park. Definitely the heaviest and still the most electronic track on the disc. 10/10

10. Adios (Goodbye): Solid song, though it leans more to classic Rammstein (Power Ballad) than to new Heavy Metal R. Not the best song on the disc, but it redeems itself somewhere in the middle. 7.5/10

11. Nebel (Mist): Probably the most laid-back sound on the album. Not much guitar here, a good relaxing sound at the end of the album. It would recieve a 7 at Track 3, but being the last song on the album it finishes off very smoothly, so it's definitely a good end-of-disc track. I found it relaxing. Call me a freak. 9/10
