They are starting to appear! Scene releases of Alien3 Remastered Assembly Cut !!! and AlienR are out, with the rest following as well, as well as proper encodes not by the scene!
Just to bring this to people's attention. Can't wait to watch proper Alien3 cut in 1080p!
Oh HELL yeah!! Thanks for the head's up, Leo <3 I love the assembly cut of Alien3, it restores so much of the lost footage -- and it's going to be AMAZING to watch them all in 720 ^_^
To be perfectly honest, the Alien saga has always been one of my absolute favourites and I have - to date - bought every release of every version of the films with only one exception; the LaserDisc versions. The only scene that I have never watched is the rumoured lost scene involving Burke in Aliens, apparently only available on LD. Other than that, I've bought every VHS and DVD released so far. I'm definitely going to pick up the BluRay anthology once the price comes down a little
Along with all of the bonus content from every single previous incarnation of the Alien films on home video (including the old Laserdisc release!!) Fox has included over four hours of previously unseen exclusive material including deleted scenes (the “Burke Cocoon” scene!),

Some screenies of Aliens (DVD vs Bluray) - the image quality was always poor due to the film stock/lighting set ups they used. Much effort has been put into the restoration for this new set...
I will probably be downloading the five blurays and ripping the material for myself with optimal settings. I am really interested in the added and assembled making off and interviews, as well as commentaries. This pack has the potential to surpass the Blade Runner pack (but not LOTREE ).

the real pity is that the alien quadrilogy dvd set which i have, just looks so fucking beautiful. the box design, the packaging is all so fucking high quality and nice, even the discs look nice... no idea why the blu-ray set doesnt look as nice... youd THINK theyd go all out on it, i mean wtf..
I can only see two Wiki releases, for the first two movies, and two scene Melite releases for the last two movies. And yes, Bluray contains the remastered Assembly Cut.

Already grabbed Alien and Aliens, was unsure about Alien 3 until your last post.
Hell, I might even grab Alien Resurrection.

Wow, surprised no one here saw the full cut for Alien 3. If Fincher would have had his way, probably it would have been a damn masterpiece from the get go.
Also, Fincher didn't want to have anything to do with Alien 3 because it was a total cluster fuck with the studio for him(check the dvd commentary on youtube, you would be amazed how abused he was for a rookie directing his first feature)

@Hierofan What you mean "no one here saw"? I've seen it, only it looks like shit on DVD because the source of the different scenes were shit. Now everything has been remastered, including sound. This is why I am excited.
@Ronhrin Yes, the Wiki release (or any Bllu-ray release) is the Assembly Cut, which is what should have been the Fincher cut.
A must see video. AVPR was the only, really the ONLY time I walked out of a cinema halfway through a movie (no, I didn't pay for it, I got in for free).
Really? You went to see AVPR in the cinema after the clusterfuck that was AVP? I would not have bothered going to the cinema and having to endure the plethora of chavs that usually go to such flicks even if someone was paying me.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
