Did anyone actually expect DNF to be good though? Dragon Age 2 was the sequel to a fairly new game that was great, and disappointed in so many ways.

eh, the reason i say its my vote for biggest fail wasnt because we expected it to fail, but rather because of the entire shambles its entire production was, for all those years and then finally at the end of it, it was just so utterly blah.
da2 - while definately a worthy contender, i think is less of a 'fail' and more of a 'this is the direction of modern gaming' kinda thing.. to me its no different than what happened with crysis 2 (although obviously da2 was a much greater catastrophe than crysis 2 was)
aaand
at the end of the day, i measure a real fail by my inability to stomach completing it... and i atleast managed to finish da2 
its all down to personal opinion though. just givin mine

Nobody mentally healthy can expect megahit from DNF. I expected nothing and i was kinda surprised by quality of DNF (mostly after patch)

i picked rage, because i was expecting a nice fallout 3 style free roaming RPG and got a shitty, ugly, half assed, short, bloated, completely linear, on rails with 0 replay value and totally disappointing steaming pile of shit of a game from a company who really can do a lot better and easily!

I voted for Rage
DNF I didn't expect to be great, although I did expect it to be more amusing than it was. Same goes for DA2, it was clear they fucked that one up long before it came out. Rage on the other hand had every promise but my fears became true in the end

Hah, it's a great battle between the two colossi of failing, just as expected .
I'm one of the few people who kinda enjoyed Duke, so it's an easy one and I'll say DA2 (which was bad per se, but even worse if compared to its great predecessor).

DA2 was major dissapoint (son) yes, but nothing will ever come close to the EPICNESS of failure that DNF became. Its failure of epic proportions. DA2 was just dissapoint (son) ^^

@Sin: I think it's just a matter of expectations from my side. I knew Duke would suck both technologically and gameplay wise because of its incredibly troubled development, while DA2...I didn't see it coming
(even though Bioware's awesome buttons and all the silly marketing weren't exactly reassuring  )
