So basically i have a Radeon 5770,it has served me well for 1.5 years, but its starting to show its age, especially in games like BF 3.

So what do you guys recommend ?

1. Should i get a GTX 560 ?
2.Should i get a 560 Ti ?
3.Should i wait for the 7770 ?
4.Should i get a 6870 if it comes down in price?

I literally cannot make my mind.

Help ?

Edit :Im gaming at 1920 ,and i have a cheap ass Gigabyte 460 psu....but since the 6 series actually consumes less power than my 5770,i don't want a new psu

Thx

GTX 560Ti if you can get it.

Though you will likely need a new PSU too,.

Why would he need a new PSU? Edit: yes well that gigabyte PSU, is really just 400w according to google. So it could become a little too close with the 560ti. Better wait for the 7xxx gen. They consume less.

How about the 6870 ? I hear they consume less than the 560's and match them in almost all games

Maybe when 77xx comes out the 6870 comes down in price?

I thinking the 7770 will be just a minor increase over the 6770/5770

6870 is close to the 560 Ti (don't forget that part - a non-Ti is slower than 6870), consumes about 40-60W less under load. Doesn't quite match it though, only in extremely heavy shader bound situations.

As for performance for 7770, it will be substantially faster than 6770. It will be sitting just under the 6870 in performance (so ~50% faster than 5770/6770), but still the same price bracket Smile

But at what price ....i don't think it would be a wise choice over a 6870 ?wich might be cheaper or at the same price.

Also the 7770 might do with a 128 bit buss, its kinda not cool.but the new arch sounds promising

7770 will most likely launch at 6770 price, below where 6870 is now at the very least. At the moment it looks like we'll have a much wider range of cards, a whole bunch of "LE" chips for the 7x90 cards - meaning prices will be spread more than before.

The HD6870 is a vacume cleaner next to the GTX 560Ti.
Don't buy any of the stock cooled cards. Nvidias are much better.
