yes im 90% sure ill be going SLI - for my resolution it makes sense, and i know SLI support isnt always perfect, but lets move along.

my question.

i have a normal gtx 570 - i want a second 570 - BUT i just cant find it for sale any more, all i can find are the overclocked versions.

they'd both be evga 570s, and the second one im looking at is the 570 classified.

i CAN sli a plain 570 AND an overclocked 570, right? but the overclocked 570 would be scaled back to the performance of a normal 570 in this case, yes? i shouldnt run into any problems running a normal and OC'd card in sli?

alternatively i could overclock my normal 570 to the other cards levels, to get that higher performance, right? would that be recommended?

It's the bios that must match.
Overclocked cards should clock back, though i have read of recent compatibility issues. (can't remember where i read this though)

You can grab a different brand at stock clocks and that should be fine.

Both your cards will go to the clock speed of the slower card. So the factory OCed card will simply just clock back like slizza said

I ran a factory OCed card with a regular one and never had any issues. I had it running for about a month. The factory OCed one just clocked back from 752Mhz to 700Mhz to match the other card
