I played this game a lot when I was younger (pre-Pentium days), including online. Fond memories. It really was just part of a larger era of great flight sims and kind of extended itself into online/multi-player gameplay which was just starting to take off. I'm glad to see some of the original guys on board with this project. I threw $25 at it for now, might increase later, but it's worth at least that much just for the memories (what can I say, I'm nothing if not nostalgic). I searched and didn't see the game listed on here so I decided to go a step further by posting a proper template for it.

It seems to be too much arcadish. But it's WWI, so I can't resist. Smile
IMO, the spirit of the Red Baron game already lies in Over Flanders Field game with its great historical campaign.

True, any excuse to bust out the joystick is a welcome one. I'm aware of Rise of Flight but the pricing model always turned me off. I guess I'm just not hardcore enough for the diehard flight sim club, but I can at least pretend. Mr. Green

A lot of people have been saying it looks too arcadish (and is one reason I pretty much poo-pah'd it when I first saw it on a gaming news site), but if you check the Comments section you will see a reply by a dev:

To be straight: we will not be an arcade game. We will have some training wheels that allows new players (particularly those not used to flight games) a chance to experience dogfighting. However all of this can be stripped away through the realism panel, uncovering a historically authentic and physically accurate flight model.

Well let's wait and see how it turns out. Anyway it's "only" a $15 pledge so for me it's OK.
But the WW1 flight sim which I'm really really waiting for is the new OFF "Wings OVer Flanders Field".
