Having the SAME FUCKING PROBLEM as with Driver: San Francisco.
Regardless of graphic settings, DX9/11 mode, getting random freezups. Even in the MAIN MENU.
How the fuck is it possible to get the same glitches on two different games?

And I'm running Skyrim and L.A. Noire on max.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME.

And ixi, if you even mention reinstalling Windows, I'll devote all my BF3 time to hunting your ass.

You don't happen to have a Gigabyte 560Ti -card do you?

Nope, Geforce 450 GTS.
And the CPU is Q8200 @2.33GHz
4GB of ram.

The only thing that's really old is the Seagate hard drive and Gigabyte mobo 945P- DS3

But that shouldn't matter since I can play any modern game at high. Including Skyrim, Deus Ex, Battlefield 3.

The only thing that Driver and SR3 have in common is the recording feature.

EDIT: I'm uploading a short gameplay clip from the very begining. Gonna post it as soon as my crappy upload is finished -.-
EDIT2 :http://youtu.be/d2r67o-lgOI
The resolution is the lowest possible, and everything's been set to low.
The same freeze up happens in the intro, the cutscenes, and even in the ingame menu.

So if any good soul, has any idea what's causing this, please help.

You heartless bastard. Prepare to be backstabbed, teamkilled, mined, sniped, spawnkilled, suicide-plane-crashed and shot repeatedly in the ass during every BF match I find you!

<333 sorry Laughing

I'll try to redeem myself Razz
Have you tried to reduce your audio quality, setting it to 44100Hz? (PlayBack Devices > Speakers > Advanced and choose it from the drop down menu, unticking the "allow applications to take control over that device". )

You can also try to set .exe's priority above normal or higher through the task manager and see if it can help..it's a very very weird issue though :/

Yeah, tried all of it.
Tried using only two cores. Didn't work.

It's really a weird error. There's nothing wrong with the framerate even on ultra settings, just ever 4 seconds or so, there's a lockup where the game freezes but the sound keeps on going.

Is there a plugin, driver, anything Windows related I could be missing, like Framework.
What does this game obviously need, that I don't have, that's not needed for Skyrim, Deus Ex, or BF3?
Confused

<3 ixi, but I'm still gonna be at your back every chance I get. And I know you want it.

Do you get a excessively high framerate?

It can happen that the framerate during menus and such gets so high since the card works at full speed that the temperature of the GPU rises and causes a GPU lock-up / crash that might not be stopped in time by Windows and it's VPU reset function.

This can be due to many factors but if you get the issue even with VSync on (FPS thus capped.) it's not that issue.

Drivers would be something else to check or a faulty component like the beginning of a failing RAM stick or well anything though it would happen every now and again if so and not just during specific games.
(PSU maybe if the components don't get enough power.)

Overclocking can also cause this as different software / games stress the computer in different ways so what's stable in some games might be unstable in others even if the overclock has been relatively well tested.
(Seems unlikely though.)

Speaking of the drivers you could try to set the power saving / management function to maximum performance if that's the problem, I believe both Nvidia and ATI have sorted this since some time ago however but it might be worth checking.

The framerate isn't excesively high.
Ram,as you said is the unlikely culprit.
The cpu isn't overclocked, since the motherboard doesn't support ram higher than 800MHz.
And if it was power, it would be game specific. It's just this game and Driver: SF.
Like I said, playing ANY other game on high or ultra, Skyrim, Deus Ex, Battlefield, you name it I can play it.
I'm gonna try to play it on my sisters computer tommorrow, which has a completely different configuration.
Other than that... I guess I could reinstall Windows(on the right partition this time, thank you very much ixi and h_s) but at this point I just want to know what's wrong.
It was fine when this happened with Driver, but Saints Row I like.
And if it should happen with Batman or Assassins Creed...not good.

Ok, just installed the skidrow version on my sisters computer.
And GETTING ALMOST THE SAME GLITCHES.
The lockups are more common and unlike on my computer, on hers, the sound also locks up.

This now the friggin twillight zone. The odds that the same error appears on two different computers and that both computers are the cause is one in a gajillion.

Is it possible that the release I downloaded got corrupted somehow?

Sorry, I can't be of any help, but Skidrow's version is perfectly fine. I played for more than 15 hours (yesterday and today) and all was regularly fine.

If your download is getting corrupted in any way, you won't be able to install the game in the first place.

It's the buggy windows. He needs a re-install and has to format the whole disk.
