Hey Guys...

Yesterday I'd installed a mpeg player, but i have som trubles getting it to play the movies... The idea was to convert divx-movies to mpeg... about size 100mb... but does anybody know where i can get a free converter-program for this?

Very Happy

Virtualdub -> http://www.virtualdub.org/

You will need to use very low settings as It's only a 133mhz processor. I can't tell you which settings you will need as I never played movies with that device. But I'm sure the results will be really bad to run at a decent framerate. I recommend at least a 400mhz ppc for decent playback. Personally I only used it as a calendar.
There are other "lame" apps that make it easier like PocketDVD and "DVD to pocket pc".

Be sure to grab Betaplayer for movie playback. It's much better than PocketMVP or PocketTV. Here's the link: http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/. Be sure to grab the 0.096 release.

PocketDivX is another one that the Betaplayer creator recommends for encoding.

The simplest and easiest to way to convert your DVD to PocketPC, Windows CE, Smartphone and most other handheld devices. Use the best quality DVD backup utility. Just released MAJOR UPGRADE version 2.9 now includes support for sub-titles and easy copy to device!

CarryDVD For All Devices uses all of the most common MPEG-4 codecs in use today, but requires a player on the device. See link for more details.

CarryDVD For PPC & Smartphone 2003 uses Microsoft's superb quality, but slower WMV format and can be played directly with Microsoft's Windows Media Player.

... and you don't have to choose because when you buy you take home both! So if in the future you decide to buy a different type of hardware CarryDVD can still be good for you.

Check out the all new features!!! We have thrown in some crazy new features into CarryDVD! Video Part Editing - No more those interfering extra video parts! Interactive Video Croping - Stop guessing how your final video will look! CarryDVD shows you in real time!

Pop the DVD into the drive, click the "Open DVD" button, choose what screen size, quality and compression method you want in one single action. Don't worry ... it is easy to choose ... The better the quality the bigger the file. A simple rule of thumb is that a 320x240 sized picture at medium quality running time of 100 minutes should turn out to less than 128 Mega Bytes. To view is easy because you can play the movie using Windows Media Player by Microsoft straight onto your Pocket PC or Windows CE based device.

If something goes wrong half way through making your backup ... you suffer a blackout or one of your kids decides to poke that nice big green button ... no worries because CarryDVD is intelligent enough to watch out for these mishaps. Next time you start it up it will tell you about it and if you want will continue from were it was rudely interrupted! (Please note that this feature is not available in the trial version)

We also provide 24/7 e-mail support or if you insist you want to speak with somebody e-mail us your number and we'll get back to you as fast as we possibly can.

WARNING!

Before using this software please note that CarryDVD was never intended nor designed to be used as a device for copying DVDs for distribution purposes. CaryDVD was not designed to circumvent copywrite protection but was designed to create an inferior copy by reducing the size of a personally owned DVD so that it can be viewed on a hand held device under the principle of 'fair use'.

This software is designed and intended for the sole purpose of backing up while reducing in size privately owned DVDs to another medium for private viewing only.
