So I'm going to start this off with my issue of the game crashing on the intro. installed the new beta drivers, restarted the computer, renamed the folder to bf3 like some people had to do.

AMD X4 965 / AMD 5850 should be all that's relevant.

Did you rename it after the installation? I'd recommend deleting/uninstalling and installing it with a correct directory naming from the beginning :/

I did uninstall origin prior installing the reloaded release and you should install all the new directx and shit from the _installer folder.

I never had origin installed and never plan to. DX and Vcred didn't work as I thought it wouldn't.

- Try the preview 1 driver
- Try rolling back to the 11.9 drivers
- Have you got any GPU related program running in the background (Afterburner, RadeonPro, ATI Tool, etc)? If so disable it.
- Fuck the duck until exploded.

I hope these help. Wink

Don't you need Origin? I believe the game is dependent on it though maybe Reloaded got past it but I don't know.

This. BC2 crashed if I had Afterburner running. BF3 doesn't do that for me, happily running it with both RP and AB, but it might be a problem on your PC.

Reloaded release:
Don't install Origin, block the exe in the firewall etc... That's what the .nfo said, and I ran it without issues (SP obviously) on my Radeon 6950 (using beta 11.11 drivers (8.91)).

There's an issue with Gigabyte's cards (among those, the 560 ti) that will cause BF3 to crash due to low voltage, there is a BIOS-fix (F13 BIOS) that is supposed to remedy this issue (basically it sets the voltage to 1,075)

Yes, yes I'm back.

Maybe there is no issue, except that it's causes by this:

More voltage=more OC headroom, but that would be veryvery sneaky of DICE, if it's indeed true.

I think this ain't true. I just did a quick test: played some SP mission with GPU-Z running in the background and ... NO. It doesn't 'dynamically overclock' anything. Moreover, I don't believe DICE would do such a thing.

crashing. disabling ingame origin got rid of a lot of crashes, but they're steadily increasing. after the maintenance shit they did this morning it crashes an outrageous amount today. at the end of rounds, mid round, map change etc. no error, just a flicker and a poof, gone

Yes, I have it too. I'm on RELOADED, however. Just playing SP from time to time (it sucks as hell) to check the graphics.

Finally managed to eliminate the echoes from the sound.

this is what i did by researching in google:

1 - launch the game
2 - press alt tab
3 - open task manager
4 - then in processes right click bf3.exe
5 - set affinity to cpu0 ONLY

the game now works

anyway it is not bad but i believe COD MW3 is much much better

cheers
Rob

i don't have those sound problems, but I do expirience some weird shocking in the refreshrate.

It doesn't look like a performance problem, since it's the same with low or high detail.
The game itself keeps responding very quickly also.
While games normaly lag in response-time in my expirience when the pc is struggling.

So I wonder what's causing it.

I found out it's memory related. Once memory gets to about 3600MB the game starts to stutter. Went through and started disabling startup services and shit and I gave firefox the boot. It was always using about 400MB just for having battlelog open.

Anywho, I can't seem to join servers anymore. I put my roomates PS3 behind my router so he could play his COD Black Ops and I went played a match of BF3 in my room. Exited did some reading and went to go play again and now I can't join any servers. It's just stuck on Joining Server....

Never experienced such problems, just now after reinstalling the OS (OS which was installed from the current OS because I dont own a damn SATA DVD-RW )

What's the problems ? As stated in the BF3 thread :

I reinstalled the operating system, BF3 crashes every time (100% rate ) after 1-2 minutes of gameplay ( multiplayer) It's either a freeze and I have to ctrl+alt+del or a cdd.dll blue screen.

I have never encountered this issue, I can't believe that my 7 month old windows that was barely loading could run all games at a decent framerate and without issue.

Now this piece of shit is intolerable, I have all the drivers up to date, no betas.

With the current configuration, I ran Crysis 2 at maximum possible settings + that DX11 patch, everything ran flawlessly, I played the game for 2-3 hours .

I'm telling you, everything went mad after I reinstalled the OS.
