Is it ok to join there without a mic? Mainly for upcoming BF3 action, although I'm not quite sure how you do it usually. One channel for every squad/server or all 100 of hump-platoon speaking on one

Seems there are a few channels already and drag&drop works. Only done TS3 a bit with EVE wars.

Very much Dutch mate, but I spent the better part of my online gaming with a whole bunch of Brits and just foreigners in general. A good 7 or 8 Dutch buddies I played stuff with, rest was all with mostly Brits. Some Germans back in my HLDM days (<3 DKH if anyone knows them), CS was with my Dutch buddies and ringing for Brits, WoW with guilds that were 50% Brits...
Add to that that I work with an English company, fly over to London regularly..a lot of people are fooled by the accent I've picked up, which apparently sounds like something on the way to Birmingham/Wolverhampton-ish mixed with some proper London haha
It's the same when I speak Dutch though. I'm from the southern part of the country, which has a very typical accent (Limburg). When I speak Dutch though, I sound more like someone from Brabant, again because I've just had a stupid amount of friends who didn't speak our dialect
Paul, so you got accent by talking with people on TS? Damnit that doesn't sound good. In two years I'll be speaking in German-Dutch-Swedish accent

And yes I played WoW, quite a bit I might add. Not ashamed of it at all, just glad to be out. Vanilla WoW was great fun, with some encounters that required a stupid amount of coordination from 40 people; TBC bored me shitless so I played that on and off; we kept running out of content and the PvP in WoW was fucked beyond belief already. Mates convinced me to check WotLK out with them, and all 35 of us quit after 3 weeks when we discovered how piss easy the game had gotten
Anyone knows how to get text to speech working? I know not everyone has a mic but it would be nice to receive those chat messages by text to speech without alt-tabbing.
Have you considered using Mumble instead? From what I have gathered it requires a lot of less maintenance than TeamSpeak ( which crashed a couple of times yesterday by the way ) and it even lets people decide for themself how much bandwidth (clientside) for audio quality
