What? Could it be? Yup! Amazon is making this into a TV series... different actors though

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2090440/

Info: http://screenrant.com/zombieland-tv-show-amazon-cast-writers-director/

Quote:
Deadline is reporting that Amazon wants to acquire the Zombieland TV show for its streaming service, following the example of other alternative digital distributors that are joining the game of producing original content (see: Netflix and House of Cards). Of course, Zombieland‘s an especially appealing prospect, seeing how the show arrives complete with a built-in fanbase, popular brand and extra demand thanks to the sequel falling by the wayside (due to factors such as the increase in collective cast starpower, after the past few years).

Reese and Wernick are writing and executive producing the Zombieland TV series, with the movie’s producer Gavin Polone also committing to co-executive producer duties. As indicated before, there’s going to be recasting for the roles of Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), since all four characters are returning in the television spinoff. Meanwhile, what amounted to quirky tangents in the original movie – like the ‘Zombie Kill of the Week’ and Columbus’ rules for survival – are expected to return and should feel more at home in the weekly small-screen installments.......

I see you haven't read the books or know where it's heading. Laughing
Zombie stuff is the ww2 stuff. ww2 turned into MW, and BLOPS.
Zombie will prolly turn into something super gay.

Each decade there is a run on themes... 1980s was Vietnam, 1990s was Medical/Law, 2000s had the Vampire crazy and now in the 2010s its all Zombies (TWD likely uses Zombie actors/actresses from other shows also as its cheaper).

I've bought and read WWZ... it was very good.
But now I want to read it again only to find that either my sister or my mom lost it! Mad

Amazon Very Happy
If they manage to keep the same style and spirit of the movie, why not Razz . It will be hard, but at least the writers are the same.

i want to see CSI zombie.

"raaaarahh.. there go steve again. he eat suspects brain. you suspended steve."
"MY METHOD GET RESULT, BOSS!"

each episode would only last about 10 minutes though. you know... what with the victim being undead and just pointing out the guy that killed him. still.. i can definately see the possibility of hilarity. MAKE THE DAMN SHOW ALREADY.

I could see it on Adult Swim.

And in terms of zombie tv series - Death Valley wasn't bad.

The movie was crap... A pastiche of a genre that has lost the core ingredients of what Romero introduced where Zombies were simply the perfect setting and background to present social criticism/commentary, describe the materialistic world we've created for ourselves out of comfort, what happens when that comfort suddenly is taken away, how humans can behave as animals if in strife etc. etc. etc. etc.... and he didn't need running/jumping/flying(?) zombies to make it cold, chilling and scary.. his zombies were slow. But they were nearly infinite, could come from behind any corner, very resilient etc...

Zombieland was a kind of comedy/satire version that simply wasn't fun or had any interesting satire.. It was simply very weak and I didn't like it at all (in my humble opinion) yet it's probably one of the better ones made in the last 10 years. Romero lost his touch completely and probably aimed at purely commercial crap with Land of the Dead.. then Diary of the Dead was a copy-cliche of all the other hand-held camera-documentary style horror movies.. And then he totally destroy his reputation and his franchise with Survival of the Dead... what a piece of crap that was.

I guess The Walking Dead will have to be the poster boy for the only modern zombie production that actually have some depth and interesting plots, but I got bored after the farm-season and never continued following it, too much nonsense about marriage problems, and I hated the villain character..

Aside from the mildly amusing opening, the pilot is utterly terrible.

so why have different actors play the roles that different actors had?
why not introduce new characters... and have the original actors show up once a season for a cameo...

stupid shit.

5 seconds of Woody Harrelson could probably fund 10 seasons of this pile of shit Laughing

'Zombieland' writer announces the series is dead at Amazon

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/tv/showtracker/la-et-st-zombieland-amazon-writer-rhett-reese-20130517,0,5874359.story

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
