I WAS very excited for this game. Too bad it'll have streamlined RPG elements.

Jeff Vogels not one for graphics, his gameplay and stories are normally good though.

Not too keen on the fact hes dumbing down some of the usual RPG elements.

I've always liked his original 2D graphics more than his isometric stuff. Cutting back from 6 to 4 party members also bothered me. I'm more of the 6 party traditional kind of guy.

and it's obvious why he dumbed it down. Coming for iPad!
another developer I've lost all respect for.

Yeah, I always preferred the graphical style of the Exile series to Avernum/Geneforge. The graphics were always very colorful, and had something cool about them.

Tried the demo. Pretty bland all-round. Will probably give it one more shot, when I'm not so tired.

Well, I gave the demo a try but can safely confirm what Casus said - bland and uninteresting.

Whilst Vogel is a good developer, never let him speak publicly or on his blog. He could beat Bioware in bullshit and that's an achievement.

Debatable. I rather play old DOS games than his pathetic attempts at emulating Bio. At least those games have soul. And they look better, too. Wink
