Friend of mine showed me his new rig today, but his PSU fan is on the inside?!
Does this means he put it in wrong or is this normal with this PSU and this case (Antec 1200 v1)?

I don't fully understand your asking. You're questioning yourself why the PSU is at the bottom of the case?

That case doesnt have air intake on bottom of the PSU, so its needed to put fan facing up. What cards are those ? AX 1200 looks pretty overkill Very Happy

Hell, mine faces into the case too - NZXT Lexa Blackline. It's VERY rare for a case to have an exhaust specifically located for and above the PSU. Don't sweat it.

The strange thing is that both are corsairs. The 1000W is aligned the same way as the 650W, ie. the text isn't turned upside down, yet the 1000W one has intake on top while the 650W doesn't. Minor difference though Razz

I don't see the problem. The PSU takes air from inside the case and blows it out the back. I have the same case and with the 3 fans on the front, there will be plenty of air flow for the graphics cards and the PSU. If you turn the fans up to max on that case, it will sound like an aircraft taking off Laughing

Most reference coolers only exhaust part of the heat through the back; most leak quite a bit to the side and back down, meaning the PSU will be sucking some of that in too. And in your case with your 480's you'll have about as much coming off the back of your cards' PCB's as you do anywhere else Laughing

But it's normal for case to have air intake hole on the bottom (for bottom mounted PSU cases).

The "problem" is warm air "cooling" the PSU Smile

It's not going to matter much. 3 fans on the front of the case, 2 on the back, 1 on the side and a huge one on the top.

Very Happy Corsair has those "HX/AX etc.." texts differently on both sides, so if you put it fan facing up its still aligned same way that it would be fan facing down ( which is nice tbh) Razz

Who me? It should last for 5+ years (it's also under warranty for 5 years) and didn't cost much more than a lower wattage PSU. So if I put a couple 580s or better cards in my rig I won't have to worry about being able to power it. Also, I read PSUs lose up to 30% of the rated wattage after a few years.
