Activision announces gold master duplication in progress.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI - News) confirmed today that id Software's highly anticipated DOOM 3?, will has reached gold status and is in the process of duplication. Doom 3 is expected to hit stores on August 3rd following a special "Collector's Edition" DVD release.
The latest installment in one of the most successful franchises in gaming history, DOOM 3 utilizes id's revolutionary new 3D graphics engine to draw players into the most frightening and gripping gaming experience ever created.

well 3rd of august rules out a july release  o well its a believeable statement and i do hope it is no later than that date. would like some proof though

So that must mean that the dvd release comes out before the normal release thats out August 3rd..

Yeah that's great, but we already knew when the game would ship. What your links have failed to prove is that the game has actually gone gold as stated in your original post.

well its a little early to go gold for a august ship date but this would not be the first. Unfortunatley Doom III going gold would be on every site by now. It does not appear to be anywhere. Way to many grammar issues in there. I am not saying as a bad thing but a copy and paste usually has none.
