I don't think that would require "advanced PC Graphical techniques"

Wouldn't be surprised if rockstar considered facebook games as the next generation in PC gaming.

Ah, I didn't even think that they might mean this generation, I thought of true "next-gen" games.
And it might actually be about porting RDR: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=25795378&postcount=22

Didn't they pass the opportunity to brand APB as GTA:MMO early on in development? If so, I doubt they'd start one now, especially considering the quick demise of APB.

Ah well, imho, as a beta tester of APB, the game just sucked. The only good thing about it was the really good customization part. The gameplay itself was as boring as all those free2play asia mmorpg grinders out there.
Let's say it won't be an MMO, but I think it will have a strong MP part. But it's still possible. Especially because APB failed. Now they "should" have an Idea of what they "shouldn't" do and/or aim for.

It's either a RDR port or, thinking more optimistically, they're gearing up additional people to work on a hypothetical L.A. Noire port scheduled to be released half a year later after the console premier.

I would much rather have RDR on the PC that LA Noire.
If I wan't some LA noire I'll just read some James Elroy.

Although, its more likely to be related to LA Noire than to RDR, the "next gen" probably means just that.
I mean, isn't it a little late to be hiring people to work on a port of RDR?

definately a typo. rockstar doesnt 'do' pc games. if anything, id suggest they have total and utter contempt for the pc as a gaming system.

So roll on with the RDR PC version already.

There is a RDR listing on Steam (As posted in that recent Steam thread.) but who knows what it might actually be.
EDIT: Ah of course a publisher compilation of titles and released "works", often for pack purchase offers and the like and there's a number of them so that definitively makes sense.
Will have to re-check things a bit better next time, haven't really gone trough Steam files in quite some time as there's not been much of interest to look at.
(Publisher and press beta offers, reviews, DLC and expansion info and some game information but usually it's mostly just for fun and doesn't yield much information at all though of interest might be that there's a number of unlisted DLC for New Vegas although that was announced officially yesterday, various Civ 5 DLC and SDK, Shogun Total War 2 extras, Brink pre-order stuff and a number of other details.)
EDIT: Advanced Warfighter 2 is now listed on Steam it seems.
(Also there's two listings with DLC for two unnamed Volition games and a unnamed test DLC for Human Revolution, demo listing for Homefront as well, various DLC for Retribution as well for Last Stand and Multiplayer.)

Same here, I wouldn't mind having a LA Noire some months later though, for free obviously

Quote: | We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans – that game of course being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it. All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms,” |
The RDR thread is closed so let this be here.
