Now that's very interesting. But does anyone really want to play the entire GTA3 with virtual sticks?

iPhone 4 just doesn't have the GPU horsepower for such a game.

The GTA games were one of the most demanding on the PS2, right? So that means basically you could port over any PS2 game and play it on those devices, at least the hardware should be able to handle it. Would be interesting to see if more comes out of it, maybe even an emulator. But those always have WAY inferior implementation that a real port, so I doubt it will happen in this generation...
If any of those manufacturers gets it right and manages to basically add all PS2 games to their mobile library, that would be a fucking win.

As far as I recall, Sony sort of allready did this with the Xperia Play or whatever the fuck it's called.
However, it's a shit phone so it's allready gone obsolete IMO.

That's because emulation is completely different than engine recompilation and retooling to a particular system. I'd say, expecting PS2 emulation in the next 10 years on ARM, when it barely works well on x86-64 is hilariously naive and uneducated.

Well the galaxy s2 works with blutooth gamepads (like the wii controller for example), so if you don't want to play it on the touch screen, there are plenty of alternatives

I see people complaining that you can't control the camera. But if I am not mistaken that was also the case with the original PS2 version, custom camera was only added in VC.

If i recall correct san andreas was the first GTA with this feature. Can be wrong though...
Playing third person with locked camera is claustrophobic in a way, being trapped and all.

Just bring the PS Vita. The only games I enjoy playing on my iPad are adventure games.
Virtual analog sticks take all the pleasure from playing games, always fighting with it.

You can get that suction cup analog stick thing which actually works really good.
