I have a dam infection in my upper left gum because my wisdom tooth has only partially came through. It fucking hurts bad. Got a dentist appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping they just rip the tooth out. I've had 3 days of pain and it's getting really annoying now. Crying or Very sad

Unlikely, unless you've been there before recently and they know what's up. If not, they'll just check the situation and give you a separate appointment for the actual operation. And maybe some prescription painkillers if you're lucky. Very Happy

Nooooo. The last time I was there they recommended leaving my wisdom teeth unless I kept on getting infections. I've had two infection now and want them gone. I definitely want some antibiotics and pain killers. Half my lower face has swollen up.

I read they might not extract if you already have an infection, because of the infection spreading. Sad

And the procedure only takes 2-20 minutes, for each tooth. My top ones a pointed downwards perfectly, just they are barely past my gums.

My dentist said the same thing, once mine started tearing my gums xD
Plus I had throat infection so he prescribed me some antibiotics ^^

I gargled those mouth wash thingies, and after about two days the pain ended ^^

It was really annoying for like 3-4 days tho, I couldn't eat properly :\

They took an x-ray and said I will have to have it removed. Got an appointment in a few weeks. No antibiotics or pain killers were prescribed so I had to buy some ibuprofen. Sucks.

Oh, that sounds like a good idea. If I remember correctly, aspirin works by somehow killing the pain at where the pain is, unlike paracetamol which somehow works in/on the brain.. Or something like that?

I hated removing the wisdom teeth as well but the actual procedure turned out to be OK. You'll get a local anesthetic and the dentist will remove the wisdom/stupidity tooth in little chunks. 15 minutes and you're done. Smile

PS ask to keep the extracted bloody tooth. Leave it in the waiting room afterwards Very Happy

I JUST got mine removed this past friday September 9th. The removal of the tooth was not NEARLY as painful as the pain I was feeling a week before that. I believe it was Friday night (Sept 2nd) at like around midnight I started getting the MOST UNBEARABLE pain I have EVER felt in my life. Felt like something was poking needles in my brain and in my neck. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING WORST!

Ended up going to the emergency room at like 3am cuz my painkillers werent strong enough to relieve the pain and I was going insane. The painkillers they gave me at the hospital were also shit. I finally got back home around 6am with some decent painkillers.

And then a week later this past friday I got the tooth removed. It didn't hurt much during the procedure. Youll feel almost nothing. Procedue lasted about 2 or 3 minutes. After the removal of the tooth, about an hour later itl start to hurt but not NEARLY as painful as that night. Holy fucking shit I was having suicidal thoughts that night before I went to the mergency room. There was just nothing I could do lol I tried everything suggested online but nothing worked

It has now been a week since the removal of the tooth and I feel no pain whatsoever. I never realized as much as i do now what a privelage it is to live a painfree life Smile

Haha, sorry, that made me laugh. Good to know that it doesn't hurt that much when and after removed. I might ask about getting my other wisdom teeth removed too. I really don't want this pain again.

Whats that, just rip the tooth out? My gums will need to be cut slightly to get my top wisdom teeth out. The bottom gums would need to be cut quite a lot and pulled away from around the tooth. Could get kinda of messy doing it yourself.

The 800mg ibuprofen worked for me. I was also prescribed antibiotics about 5 days before the tooth removal

Yep codein/tramadol fluids are awesome. But don't take too much, unless you wanna get high too Very Happy

I "accidently" took too many drops some months ago... holy shit.. and I had the best sleep in my life thanks to that. I felt so relaxed and had this inner warmth the next morning it was unbelievable. Just pure joy Laughing

There is an obvious reason why codein/tramadol drugs are prescription only Wink

They are addictive as hell.

On the other note, I never heard of 800 mg tablet of ibuprofen, the highest dosage here per tablet is 600 mg, and that's like half daily dosage iirc...

I guess they don't sell these anymore

The pharmacy gave me Brufen powder, some kind of Ibuprofen. Worked very well actually. And tasted better than most soft drinks as well!

I love the ibuprofen in little granules that you just dissolve in water ^^ Taste nice and acts faster Smile

Sad that they don't give that on prescription (you have to pay for that unlike the pills which you can get for free if the doc gives you prescription)...

We can buy Co-codamol without a prescription here but the tablets come in a mix of 8mg codeine and 500mg paracetamol. I ran out of co-codamol the other day. My tooth/gum is starting to feel a bit better.. I think this is the fifth day of pain!

Chew on some cloves, the spice (the spice clove? unsure of the english name of it, it's this spice Syzygium aromaticum).

Then you put the mush on your aching tooth.

Works as nice as xylocaine, because, well, look at what it contains.. Razz it's also antibacterial.

Will also numb your entire mouth if you keep chewing...

You can also use the spice to numb various body parts for prolonged fun.. *wink wink*

WIKI has a few pics of it, most stores has it around here atleast:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Syzygium_aromaticum?uselang=sv

Learnt about it when I had a cracked tooth, that they wouldn't pull because of inflammation,
and no pills helped with the pain, good ol' grandmother told me to chew cloves, and gawd
darn, it works...

Paracetamol, aspirine, all useless for me. Advil however works wonders. Fuck knows what's in them, but they're the only non prescription stuff that works for me. Takes 5 minutes to work, can take one every 4 hours, and for me they worked about 5 hours each Smile

Having had 8 teeth pulled out and gone through a 7 hour operation, I have experienced plenty of pain in my teeth Smile Ibuprofen works just fine, maybe take it along with 1-2 aspirins.

In my country any Ibuprofen over 400mg is prescription only and I have seen 1200 and 1600mg for people with severe backpain etc(my father gets 800 prescribed himself and a colleague gets 1200)
