All the underlying Linux packages have already been released by Palm ages ago, so the community can fix those. It's the UI side that's needed; that would also mean the UI could be ported to Android for example.
I personally hope that they do, because while Honeycomb is already much better for tablet use than iOS, webOS does many little things even better. Considering it's Linux based just like Android, porting shouldn't be that hard.
To give you an idea:
That's by Anand from (*drumroll*) Anandtech. He's had every single iPhone there has been, he's been on MBP's for years and yet he is one of the biggest fans of webOS - despite its bugs and issues.

Some details on the hardware for those that don't know:
- Third generation Snapdragon, 1.2 GHz, dual core
- 1GB DDR2 RAM
- 9.7" IPS display at 1024x768
- Adreno 220 GPU
- Supposedly the best speakers you'll find on a tablet atm
So even without webOS, at $99 this is pretty good hardware and I have no doubt that someone will build a Honeycomb ROM for this soon. All the drivers have been released by Palm already, which is the hardest part about porting any OS.
I would've ordered one by now if they dropped to that price here in Europe. At that price it's just a fucking steal :/
That's pretty impressive! 16GB Snapdragon dual-core touchpad for $99? That's a bargain for anyone that wants a touchpad, but doesn't want the extreme price-tag from the Galaxy Tab or the iPad.
Sadly, it's sold out in most places already on the other side of the pond, otherwise I'd seriously considering having someone pick one up and shipping it.
I really need to figure out a way to get my hands on one of these, really seems unlikely we'll get the price cut here, if at all and the damn thing is only available in the UK as well.
Aye it was, but none of them ship to NL (or in your case, BE). Need a German address for that and I don't have one.
Luckily 2 of my colleagues in the UK are also on the hunt, so the three of us are combining our efforts. I can get it shipped to our UK office, so I'm just looking at the UK atm

been trying all day to find a site that sells em but everywhere I check they're sold out, don't exist anymore or don't have the lowered price
there's no german site I found so far that has the lowered price.
it appears that only HP germany had the lowered price yesterday which crashed their site and they were sold out pretty much then and there. I'm hoping some etailers will join in but many of them seem to just return them instead and take them out of their store.

The hardware in this one is better than any other tablet you'll find, although I don't think there's a comparison to the iPad 2 yet, but it should be able to match that easily.
