Not that interesting a read, really, but it's adequate for my question: what do you think the education system should be like, what disciplines should be prioritized above others, and then, what should technology be about, tools or social symbols?

I'm kind of completely on Gates' side on this one.

i think the basics. ENGLISH, SCIENCE, MATHS, ECONOMICS. rest of the stuff is flim/flam that kids can take when theyre older and have to pay for their education and thus can pick what they want to learn...

and technology should be about tools.

this is all about early education right? because thats what my answer is referring to. like i said, when they get older, and pay university fees themselves, then the field should open up to whatever they want to learn... but early education should focus on the practical useful basics.
