Stallone is executive producing and there is conflicting information whether he will reprise his role. Some sources say yes.
The series focuses on Rambo and his son, meaning whoever plays Rambo, Stallone or not, will be a big part of the series. Written by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive).

The only reason to see the last one was the gore, which isn't going to be allowed by Fox. Not on that scale anyway.

I'm not too fond of this idea, usually in such attempts the amount of cringe is huge.  We shall see though.
