No details were offered regarding that group's upcoming project, but Lombardi did conform it is once again a collaboration with Valve.
but at some point we learned they have collaborated with Valve on L4D1&2 DLC, and now that they're announcing a game for THQ I assume the collaboration with Valve was the DLC, and not a new game.

There aren't many good ones. Most are SP/co-op/MP/etc/etc, all in one, and lack focus.
L4D is the most successful because it's pure co-op MP. edit: same for Killing Floor I guess, although I haven't really played it.

That mod was a lot of fun, I have many great memories about it The closest thing to a Predator game ever seen , imo.
This one seems more brutal and not-so stealthy though, since judging from the cover the monster will probably be some bad ass Godzilla-like creature.
It likely evolves from smaller to bigger and bigger or something.

Think it's too early to judge the graphics anyway. I like the concept though. Obviously a lot like L4D, but with enough of a twist I think. Should be interesting!
dont get me wrong, i m 100% confident in the game´s potential, it will definitely be a great and unique experience, i expect no less from the team.
but...the gfx at this stage are pretty underwhelming, lets see how it shapes up in near future.
