As if it didn't have enough shooters to work on, Gearbox Software has announced Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2012.
The Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines dev describes the new BiA instalment as "a new direction" for the franchise.
Set in World War II, Brothers in Arms Furious 4 is a "brutal first person shooter that offers an exciting campaign mode playable with up to four players in co-op, as well as an extensive competitive multiplayer mode," the dev says.
"The story follows four fierce and fearless warriors tracking the Führer himself. As one of the Furious 4, players will use special weaponry and unexpected combat abilities to fight the greatest threat the world has ever faced: an experimental Nazi army conceived in secret by the Third Reich."
Ubisoft marketing man Adam Novickas says of the game: "The Brothers in Arms franchise has been renowned for its gritty direction that has dropped players into the middle of World War II.
"With Brothers in Arms Furious 4, Gearbox brings the action to a whole new level filled with unexpected twists and over-the-top battles that are sure to please new players and fans alike."
This is just awful. BIA ought to be a grim, realistic, tactical shooter.
The story isn't even completely told yet:
The wintery Battle of the Bulge should've been next in line. And after that the liberation of germany with concentration camps and all that shit.
Instead we get THIS. Another cell shaded, idiotic gimmicky derpshooter.

NEVER a good sign.....
Anyone else feel a TF meets SoF vibe? SoF I can handle as long as it's not like that last PoS(someone on here put it perfectly when they said the latest-I don't count it, though- Soldier of Fortune's dismemberment felt like knocking down a house of cards. Anyone remember saying that or who did? It was a brilliant analogy)
To rate this on this vid is the same as saying Dead Island is the best zombie game evah, based on the great FMV trailer. BUT.. I don't think we will be far off with our hump built-in-Suckometer going off the charts with this BS.

I have nothing against cartoon-ish games and more lighthearted ones, I loved Bulletstorm like the next guy. But please, not BiA...I loved those games for blending a easy playstyle, and still "felt" real and tactical. But this...no, please make it a spin-off and not a new direction.

I know, it's the same thing Bioware said when they were doing Dragon Age 2.....ughh another great franchise thats going to be derpified.
I just don't get it, I know that it's a business and you have to appeal to a larger crowd for good sales but to anyone who's an older gamer their were great quality games that were out before that still sold well and gave companies a great reputation, hell some of them are still around to this day because of the games they used to make.
It's really no wonder why i still continue to play older games.
