After reading recent thread on what games you are going to buy this year...
Would you buy a non steam game?
It's kinda funny how steam grew since the early days and honestly I would _not_ buy a game unless it was available on steam...I don't really mind UPlay/Origin installed but damn it took Steam many years to get some of the things done and they deserve it I guess.
What about you guys?

Probably, I prefer Steam but EA doesn't use it and Ubisoft still uses their own client regardless of if it's on Steam or not.
Undecided on Witcher 3, I want it on GOG but I like the Steam version better for updates and such...
(Both? Though that's kinda silly.)

Does Origin have achievements implemented? It's kinda funny that I hate achievements as much as next person but I doubt I would be able to give them up at all. They are quit neat feature.
I don't think I would get a GOG version of Witcher 3 just because of the achievements.

No Steam = no buy.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Origin supports achievements but they're not very common plus the download system needs to improve and many of their older games retain the old system where you basically download the disc content and then it installs from there instead of the new system where it works similar to Steam with grabbing the files directly.
(Same goes for the update system and speaking of update system Ubisoft needs to improve that with UPlay because their older games retain the old patching system, heh both have a ways to go if they plan to catch up to Steam.)
EDIT: I do like that UPlay has those four special achievements that you can redeem to unlock in-game content but it is primarily a sort of DRM though now it seems it can be bypassed with a bit of work and saves from someone who owns the game and has said content unlocked.
(I'm not really going for 100% achievement unlocks otherwise but I like to get extra content, Mass Effect 1 did a interesting thing as well where they provided in-game bonuses.)

I bought few games on Desura due to earlier/exclusive releases. Bought some things on GoG too. So, I guess, it is yes? The question is weird, it does not mention if we are talking about physical or digital games.
Honestly, I rare buy full price games. In fact, I rarely buy games at all. Usually I can easily afford to wait for sale even without pirating it, because I rarely play vidya nowadays.
Steam/Desura/Amazon-lolzon - whatever it is, you don't "buy" or "own" games, you just "
rent" them or "purchase usage license" or whatever pretty word you want to use. You have no control over these "digital goods"and the provider can screw you easily at any time by the will of his left little finger. So does it matter in the end if old good pirating/DVD burning still wins?
Rhetorical question.

If witcher 3 gets a sweet limited edition, I'll hopefully be able to buy the hell out of that.
Unless it's censored in nz...

I never liked the UPlay achievements. They are, finish X to get some points that you can redeem on hd wallpapers or exclusive wallpapers.
@Kein Most of the games released these days are steamworks except Blizzard/EA/Ubisoft games.
I would NOT mind having more EA games on steam, because I know they will eventually end up on sale at some point.
So, there comes another point that Steam does sales more often AND are more attractive. Did you ever see Saint Rows 3 on sale on Origin? I never heard of it.
I guess same argument can be said about Xbox Live shitty psuedo-sales.

I make exceptions sometimes but I usually only buy steam games.
I'm lazy nowadays when it comes to these things. I like the convenience of having all my games in one place, easily downloadable whenever I feel like playing them.
Origin and UPlay just get on my nerves... I chose to use steam, but uplay and origin are forced on me, so that pisses me off by default.

If it's really good or I'm really interested in it, sure. But when presented a choice to buy the same game on Steam/non-Steam I always go for Steam.

no. Every other store is mostly fucked (expect gog but I have my issues with it too)
I just like everything to be centrailzed. So steam all the wa + I like how fast and reliable it is. I like the ui and discounts. I like friends tab and all the statistics. I like steam overlay and all of it options like auto updating games etc. But mostly, i like that opposite to gog, I games are already installed upon downloading.
I guess gog is great for people who want to download installs and burn them to discs

Usually you can help it, like indie titles found only on Desura or the inevitable Origin/Uplay cheapies, but primarily I want everything to be on Steam.

I wish the digital formats would have failed as I like having boxes with artwork, instruction booklets and maps etc. but it seems like 99% of all PC games are digital only now so you do not have a lot of choice in the matter.

Unless it's restricted to Origin/Uplay, I get it from GoG or Steam, in that order. Mostly because GoG is usually cheaper and because I just like them (Broken Sword, W2 I got from them for example)
But besides that, there's no benefit to getting it elsewhere. None of the other clients have as low of a footprint as Steam, nor is their interface as good. Then there's the matter of download speeds, which Steam only recently failed on once for me. The more I use Origin, the more I loathe it. It *still* forces its main window on you on startup, it's still slow as fuck (the software itself, not the download speeds, which have been decent in the last year or so). And I don't get why, they've got a fantastic example to look at. Steam had a rocky start, but they've continuously improved it. EAD(M) or Origin as they now call it has never been anywhere near the same level :/

Non-Steam? What is it supposed to mean?
Non-steam drm free game like GOG? Sure.
Kickstarter games? You betcha.
A game with a third party DRM like Origin? Only if it's a really good game I can't live without

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)
