So I was just looking at my game shelf thinking "...such a waste of money" at a few titles. At least give a reason Smile

Hellgate London: Didn't even last long. The way they split the playerbase and the fact they refused to listen to us beta testers took it down the wrong path to complete failure.

Borderlands: Of all the consolized games I've ever played, this one smelled of it the most. Retarded story, the UI was garbage..had to use the keyboard to scroll text. They never did fix the gun card issue. The bazillion guns are just the same guns with maybe 1 more dmg or something. They dropped the ball on it. The fact enemies spawned right in front of your eyes and lacked any variety other than the boss's also killed it for me.

Sacred 2: Only good thing about it was the fact Blind Guardian was on it. The game was slow, and the quests were some of the most half assed retarded i've ever encountered. Save my chickens? Are you fucking kidding me? I'm a god damn sorcerer capable of calling upon the use of lightning and need to use it to save chicken? Blah.[/u][/i]

BioShock 2. Very uninspired sequel, and shitty support.

Lot of 2's there ^_^

Basically everyone of them was dumbed down, that's it. Most of them started as PC classics.

Sadly that's how my list looks too. Though there's some very good games that have 2's in them that beat the boat. FS2, FO2, WC2(wing commander), IWDII, and so on. But it seems a lot of the time devs get this idea that we'll take the original formula, shit all over it, toss it in a blender, add a puree of kittens and puppies, bake at 120C for 8mins, serving it chilled. Thus calling it a sequel.

Lightweight Ninja on Impulse and Heores of WW2 on Steam. Both had associated sales, but I can see why as they were pretty crappy.

Borderlands with all DLC/expansions. Played for like 1h, it's just not a good game imo..

Battlefield BC2. Not sure why i bought this. Never even tried it in MP, i'm not a big fan of MP and the singleplayer campaign wasnt my thing.

Shadow of the Prophecy in '92-'93 lol. Couldnt get past the copy protection (which was bugged). Cost me a small fortune too back then and gameplay lasted for like a full 2 minutes hehe

CoD Black Ops and MW2 (no need to commentate imho, luckily I payed only 25€ for each back then.. but still...), Battlefield BC2 (No Lan, no mod support, maps too small, magic bullets, awful netcode... just awful from an competitive perspective) and Aliens Vs. Predator 2010 (worst mp ever).

I didn't buy it and I never will. But still I like it because it has Lan support and it's quite fun on Lan. Sadly that's rarity these days.

Shogun 2 because it's fucking boring, and the latest patch made load times so long that it's not even worth playing.

Also Warhammer Online Collector's Edition. It cost like $80 and I only played the game for a month.

all of them Very Happy

nah

i think my big regrets were left 4 dead and crysis- and i only regret crysis because crytek were such dipshits and killed off the multiplayer. as a singleplayer it was pretty enjoyable.

El Matador- I finished it in 3 hours, and it was supposed to be awesome. It wasn't.
Legend of God- was supposed to be the best Diablo clone ever, and it sucked monkey balls. A lot of loot that you couldn't used, unsatisfying combat.
Left 4 Dead 2- purely meh. Left 4 Dead was really atmospheric, but the second one brought the daylight missions and they suck.

Bioshock 2 - Huge disappointment, lackluster story and characters ("Oh lamb of god ye" Rolling Eyes).
GTA 4 - Fucking piece of shit game, performance wise that is.

The Halo game from 1999 that was PC exclusive.. The one with the flying baby with a halo. Bought it, never opened it or played it. Read a very bad review after getting it home. That was my lesson in game industry hype and propaganda. I've bought many duds over the years. Overall it's worth the risk, but I've gotten better and more selective about what I buy now. The key is to not be impulsive about buying games unless they are on sale for very cheap!

Don't you think that rather than buying a game then reading one bad review you should have actually tried it for yourself. There's hundreds of reviews I have not agreed with.
