for past few years..well since 2006, only game I really played was World of Warcraft and now I can not finish one game..

I pretty much redownloaded all the games multiple times during those years witcher/portal/hl2/ac and many others but I just could not get myself to play them and actually finish....have so many on them on Steam...I would like to finish

It took me 3 times to finish GTA IV..beat it two weeks ago...I usually play game for 10 minutes..delete..reinstal couple months later..play for 10 minutes..repeat whole process

Did I just lost interest in gaming? or am just a noob because I played WoW which is pretty dumbed down game for 5 year olds?
is there any hope for me to enjoy video games? I can't stand online gaming and only aim for singleplayer games..but even then...

I think Leo's video of one button of awesomeness applies to me :/
lol wut lol wut lol wut lol wut lol wut lol wut lol wut

Indeed I am in the same boat. MK was and still is about the most exciting thing in gaming these days, and that's sad.

I'm losing interest as well these days, partly because of the overall low quality of games, and partly because I'm getting old(er)...but it's stronger than me, I'm able to hold my nose and enjoy the retardGen gaming anyway Razz

(Obviously I still have all the golden oldies installed on my laptop, these ones are mandatory Smile)

I primarily play elitist games or golden oldies. Guess this is what happens when "gaming" becomes more mainstream.

Same with me. I guess I have the same reasons as ixiga... getting older and low quality games.

Starting to feel the same way, just can't find that 2006-2008 deelix that played every game and enjoyed most of them.

Agree with Kurosaki, getting older and low quality games has to be the reason Sad

I don't look forward to games the way I did before either. Most games are completed in some few hours and never to be played again. And MP games are all repetetive.

lol i never ever did complete games anyway, but on a rare occasion i completed castlevienia.
Don't now how people can say games are worse then wat it was years ago, thats a lie lol.
Loosing interest as you get older?
Fair play but the games these days are miles better, imo of course.

Games where simpler, yet more exciting before. But then again, when we see the same types of games with new GFX its not really that excting. But its not easy for game devs to surprise us when we have seen it all before...

I don't play games for two reasons: I don't really have time and the games are mostly meh...

To me it feels like some type of games are not really produced any more. The type of games where story telling was important. The type of games that allowed you to play yourself given that you were capable of identifying yourself with the main char. Those made me feel I was a part of the game, it was about me (my alter ego in the game) instead of some kind of pawn that has to solve or do some things.

I just can't seem to find the time to play anything that needs you to actually sit down and get into the game (ala the witcher which I've had installed on my drive since late 2009 and I haven't gotten past the second chapter). Sad

Well, Oblivion + OOO is (kind of) doing it for me at the moment, clocked 86 hrs so far and still loving it.

Add me to the same boat, guys. Lately I find myself replaying the classics... whenever I acquire a new game, it just bores me. Of course there are some exemptions, but they're few and far between.

Glad. I'm not the only I guess. Last week I installed diablo 2 again to play on bnet. It was fun but not the same experience when it first came out. I hope Diablo 3 wiill deliver, but so far cartooonish graphics and its so bright...I don't think it will have this dark feeling that I experienced back in the day. Maybe because was only 11-12 at that time and now I'm almost 22.

Only game I find myself playing is Heroes Of Might and Magic III. Playing on impossible difficulty with no resources at start is fun.

I want to play games for fun but it seems term "fun" is subjectable term in today world. People define it in their own way. But many of recents games took literally fun out of everything.

I guess, I'm still hang up on 2-d games to tell you the truth.

Thanks guys, I feel little better now.

I'm 10+ and I have the same issues. Don't know if it's got anything to do with age though. I think the games, the culture etc. have changed for the worse.

Currently I'm replaying Fallout 3 GOTY with a bunch of mods to keep me going until there's a worthwhile game released.

Ive had the same thing for years now. I could only play WoW since it was some mindless action with a social aspect and I liked to competitiveness and getting loot. Ive got so many games that I wish I had interest in, but I've managed to finish only a few of them (Half-Life 2 episodes, Portal 1-2, GTA IV and Gay Tony, maybe a few more that I cant remember).
E: Also I am only 18 so this stage seems kind of early in my case

same here.

Haven't played a new game since the half-life era.

I played halflife/counterstrike, age of empires, red alert, simcity, rollercoaster tycoon when i was 12-14 or so. All the new games sucked donkey balls imho, well there are only a limited amount of types of games, after a while you have seen it all. (i only bought a wii 5 years ago to play the new zelda, but that;s about it)

Now i am 25 and I really do not sacrifice time playing a game. It is easy when you are a student. You have 24h free time a day and are struggling to fill the days. I remember playing max payne in one 40h super stint and being proud of it Very Happy (same for medal of honor). Install, 'i have 1 speed; GO', finish it. In current times, it is like sacrificing 4 weeks of spare time to play a game.

I have installed the newest civilization and need for speed, but if i played it 2h, it will be much. After 10 mins i start thinking, meh, i have so much shit going on, i'd rather do something else than playing a game, you know is never finished. Watching movies is much easier. Watch 1-2h, and done forever with it Smile
