270.61 WHQLed perfectly working on a GTX580 here.
Which applications caused the overheating?

It fixes Dragon Age 2's performance by a million galaxies to the better. That's the only gain I've noticed.

Honestly no idea, as I said my last overheating was back in 2007 when ME was released, played like 7/8h in a row  oh well the source power died tho then, glad didn't this time.
So two days ago I installed 270.61 and yesterday got the first shutdown, I was like, mhm ok, left the PC for like 2h, then I started it again, worked for another few hours then while I was working boom shut down again FUUU, same story, opened again after 2h or so and checked the usage of all craps GPU/CPU/Memory/RAM's etc, and the only one fucked up was that one you see it in the above picture
That usage was while the PC was idling, so no apps started or so...but just before the shut downs I was working, 3D related on a high poly character and some 2048x textures but that isn't a problem since I'm doing that for months and fucked up just after I installed the new drivers. -_-

Im using the 270 betas which were released before those. Whql should be the same, but cba to change since betas work on my GTX 480 flawlessy.
