|
 |
I kinda have a problem.
I was in the middle of a stock Sammy flash when there was a power shortage.
I have all the keys.
So I just reflashed, no problems what so ever.
But now the Xbox doesn't recognises the drive(green flickering center light).
When I hook it up to the PC(power from XBox) i recognises the drive and I can do whatever I want, so it looks like the drive is OK.
What am I missing?

I'm no expert, but if flashing went well and the drive still don't work, it kinda sounds like a brick. Try reflashing to stock and see if you can play originals. If not you should be prepared to order a new drive :/

Are you getting any error codes (E72, E74, etc.)?
If so, you will definitely need to reflash the drive. I suggest erasing the drive first, then create a new firmware using the key(s) that you have saved. You should, however, make a dump of the current firmware, just in case something else is messed and you need to put this non-working firmware back on the drive. Also, I highly recommend using JungleFlasher for all of your flashing needs, if you aren't already using it.
Good Luck!

Just the centerlight is flashing/blinking.
Flashing back to OFW doesnt help
And I am always using JungleFlasher
Crap, now what? |
When you were originally flashing the drive, what was powering the drive, a connection kit, or the 360 itself? If you were using the 360 as a power source, you might have futzed it if you didn't have it grounded to your computer chassis. If you were using a connection kit, there shouldn't be any problem. What you might do is dump the current firmware on the drive and then check its checksum against a newly made firmware with the same key. If they are the same, then you should be good as far as the firmware is concerned. Also, try booting the 360 with no drives connected, just power and video and see what happens.
This is a weird one for sure. This is why I always flash using a connection kit and on a computer that has a battery backup. Good luck!

You can use any readily available program that creates checksums for files. Then just compare the two strings of characters and see if they are exactly the same. If not, then recreate the firmware a couple of more times and make sure that you get the same checksum every time. Once you do, use one of those files to flash onto the sammy. Unfortunately, it is sounding more and more like your 360 is futzed for some reason. Keep on trying and hopefully, you can get it sorted.
I was up until 2:00 this morning (it's 9:05 in the morning here now) dicking with my JTAG'd 360 trying to make the 12625 update and flash my JTAG interface.

So here is the problem then... |
That's awesome! At least you don't have a bricked drive or a trashed 360. Hopefully this gets you sorted.
