...a reboot. Apparently.

and thank fuck for that.

I hope they can finally drop this realism shit, and go back to making him a comic-book character, in a suitably comic-book like world, and not try to keep passing him off as a grown man poncing around in a fucking latex suit, pretending his a bat, while talking in an embarrassingly grumbly voice, like he spent the previous day shouting for hours on end at the pigeons at the park.

Hopefully this time theyll do it right.

Or they could fuck it up terribly and do an even worse job than Nolan.

and anyone crying foul over WHY reboot... even if you DONT agree with wanting a more comic-book like world and characters, and just LOOOOOOOOOOVEEE gritty 'realism' in all your media, and just cant tolerate anything that has a fantasy element, then atleast realize its necessary regardless.

NO one will accept a new joker unless its a reboot.. and batman without joker? fuck that.

and lets face it, bringing in new directors to continue on from a previous directors vision never works...

and finally, bale is a fucking terrible batman. Im sorry, but hes just rubbish. I hope they can get rid of him and that he doesnt have a contract with them where we HAS to be in the batman reboot. that would just suck.

The Dark Knight was just stunning imo. The darkness of the story and acting (Ledger's part anyways) was really good...

indeed. some people would rather have the departed but with a man in a fetish outfit and a fabulous cape, and some of us would rather have a movie version of arkham asylum style batman and story universe...

heres hoping that after you got your perfect batman, maybe next time round ill get mine Sad

Couldn't agree more Exclamation

IMFHO, the two new Batman movies are the best of them all comic movies. If Nolan had taken the pleasing-the-wide-audience-at-all-costs approach, they would've turned out to be quite the mediocre flicks. Lots of other comic movies out and upcoming seem just like that - forgettable and average.

Indeed.

And somehow I have little doubt what this Batman reboot will turn out to be: a franchise builder, unlike the flood of crap Marvel ones, where a Batman and a Superman and a whatever to build a Justice League crap. Neutral

you lot seem to confuse comic-book universe with cheesy mediocre crap, and thats just silly. its down to the quality of the production, not if it lends itself to a real or comic-book environment.

im not suggesting the reboot will automatically be great, or better than nolans attempt.

but yeah im quite happy to say that i think batman as a character was always best in the comic-book environment.

i enjoyed the arkham asylum attempt at portraying batman to nolans attempt, and have no problem saying it.

id much prefer to see the arkham approach to a film portrayal rather than nolans dry attempt. the film doesnt have to be silly once you abandon the real world approach... its just stupid to suggest as such.

I agree with chiv, this reboot better be more like Batman and Robin than those shitty "realistic" recent ones. I hope they get George Clooney back for teh role

I liked Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and I'm definitely looking forward to the last part of the trilogy. Nolan's Batman movies are good, but nothing spectacular. However, this idea of a reboot is beyond pathetic and very rude towards Nolan, his writers and fans. I hope Nolan will tell Warner Brothers to fuck off and won't be a producer in Batman's reboot. It seems like the greed of the film studios simply has no limit, they are willing to literally fuck up anything to get their hands on more money.

I was just thinking the other day how old and tired Batman Begins looked and how it needed a reboot because the series is old and stale.

so youd actually PREFER it if some other director comes in and tries to imitate nolans vision? because that always works out so well...

or maybe you thinik nolan invented batman and without him there should never be any more batman films? come on. he didnt make batman, he didnt even create the definitive version of batman (in any medium)..

well whatever. im glad theyre changing it up. hopefully the reboot will be good, but if not, then i lose nothing because the nolan versions have hardly been anything special... not like they cost me any money to watch them.

atleast hopefully the batman games will continue to be decent, and that'll give me all the good batman characteristics i need.

No, the other director won't imitate Nolan's vision because it's too realistic for the Justice League movie.

Did I say anything like that? I know the history of Batman very well. I like Nolan's realistic take on Batman, it makes the movies more serious and not some kiddie comic book adaptations. The only adaptation I would like to see on the big screen one day (in the distant future) is Batman's Year One comic.

well sorry but you cant have it both ways. to continue the batman franchise you either have to accept that it needs a reboot, or another director would have to imitate his vision if theyre going to continue on the same lines as what nolan has done.

i doubt you assume WB would just STOP the batman franchise...

and why is WB evil for rebooting? its not like nolans wasnt a reboot. and even worse, why do you assume that no one on the entire planet could POSSIBLY do as good or better job than nolan. blatant fanboyism is it? the idea that anyone else should be allowed to touch 'nolans batman' is just unacceptable?

and just how exactly is it RUDE to fans who love, or people who have worked on a particular project, to reboot it when the franchise has been rebooted COUNTLESS times before across many mediums?

Id understand if they were rebooting something unique or fresh, but not BATMAN of all things... he DEFINATELY doesnt fit the bill of things that are offensive to fans or makers when they are remade or rebooted.

Just like spiderman, its time for someone new to take a shot at it and see how much better they can do.

I hope it is the last one (come on, it cannot go on forever) and it has also been confirmed by Nolan.

Since Bane is in the last installment, I hope something like that will happen:

100% !!

I'm sitting and thinking, and the last two Batman films might have been the best comic to movie adaptions. I can't think of others that have been more satisfying.

Nolans batmans were the best batman movies to date.
But, not the best way to portray the character of batman.
The animated series was the best portrayal of batman.
Tim Burton was a fag when he did batman 1 and 2.
Nolan went the dark realistic path.
It was cool.
But, batman has awesome monstrous villans that I don't think nolan would use cause he's so blargh! Sad

Nolan junkies will always and forever love his movies.
Batman 1 and 2.
Inception.
Memento.
Insom... wait no one gives a fuck about insomnia. LOL.
Even though it's such a good movie... no one cares even some die hard nolan fans. Sad

I'm glad for the reboot. Nolan can't keep it going this way.
