Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.
The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.
The game's two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.
Features:
* Extensive single player game featuring next generation gameplay and a wildly-engrossing story.
* Complete two-person co-operative multiplayer game featuring its own dedicated story, characters, and gameplay.
* Advanced use of physics allow for the creation of a whole new range of interesting challenges, producing a much larger but not harder game.
* Original music.
* A massive sequel to the title named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.
I'll get it for PS3 anyway. You get a free PC version with it as well (although you won't be able to play both at the same time), and then I can choose where I play the game, either my big TV or with keyboard/mouse.

might be a ps3 buy for me depending on how they incorporate move controls
There is no PS3 Move support in Portal 2.
They said in a couple of interviews and qa's that since the pc version will use a motion controller they might somehow incorporate the move control in the ps3 version.

No, the story that said they might have move control in the PS3 was inaccurate. The is no PS3 move support for Portal 2. Or at least nothing beyond basic.
The PC motion controller support is there because those developers spent nine MONTHS in the valve studios developing it along side the game. They didn't want something just hacked together for the PS3 and thrown in. That's not to say that something won't be there in the future but on release day for the PS3.
what I find completely retarded is that they have x-play support for ps3-pc-mac but left out xbox360, wouldve been perfect for girlfriend on xbox and me on PC ;\
As I understood it you won't be able to play coop (PC+PS3) with only one version anyway.
From what I have read on the Steamforums, you will only be able to be online with either your PS3 OR the PC, but not both at the same time. You could still play singleplayer on one of them though.

Is this game going to have split screen co-op ? From what i managed to find on the interwebs apparently you will be able to switch (by pressing TAB) to a split screen sort of view when playing online coop but only so you can see what your partner is doing, rather than having two people play on the same machine.
I couldn't find any definite info on this either. In the steampowered forums it sounds like coop might be able split-screen on one console, but I am not too sure about that. We will just have to wait until some official news come up...

Thanks for the idea Lutz!
Although, it won't let me play it on my JTAG'd box. It says that it needs to install an update that cannot be found. Weird. I'm trying another method of launching, hopefully, I'm just a dipshit and did something wrong while creating the GOD files. Who knows. I'll report back if nothing I do works...

use dashlaunch 2.1 or higher to get around the need for game updates.
