Got a call from my boss last night. Apparently I won't be going to work this Monday. Sad

He had to fire 25 people cause the company that I "worked" for can't afford to pay they're salaries anymore. (it's a private loaning company, like a bank, but it doesn't have many requirements like a bank to get a loan and you get the money in 1-2 days, thus higher interest.)

Had a desk job, not much hassle, just had to give calls to the agents on the field and register the payment bills in the server. It was a dream job at my age (20yrs old) and the payment was good too.. meh Sad

I'm fucking depressed now.. and I'm usually all happy joy joy and stuff.. Sad

And I'm not even in the mood to get drunk today.. Sad

fuk bankers and their scandalous ways, i know this sounds corny but think of the opportunities that might have opened up for you, one door closes who knows what the next one that opens will be, hopefully it won't be unemployment for 66 weeks.

Do you get unemployment insurance while you look for a new job.

Shitty way for you to find out you lost a job but at least it isn't your fault.

It's good that you're still young so you have time to find a new job.

You're lucky you don't live in Cro, the unemployment rate is trough the roof, even if you have degree you can't find job :\

Sounds like you left a scum company. I would never support or work for a company like you've described. They get the people in debt into more debt. Our country doesn't need more retarded poor people in debt.

That said, dude, you're only 20 - go to the job center!

Company sounds like crap and the work conditions sound like crap too when the chef can call you to stay at home. He couldn't have pulled this crap over here in germany. But then again for americans we are teh socialists Laughing

Good luck in finding a good company to work for:)

Ahhh gotta love the corruption -.-"

Regarding unemployment with people with degrees...

I guess it depends on the field but I got four serious job offers (I wasn't even looking) in my last semester of college last year. Quit my first job after 2 months just because I got a better offer and I declined the other two. People go into weird fields and then complain how they can't find work. Or they just ease their way though college, not having learned much and then they look for a job in the field that's simple enough for them to do because they don't really know shit (Know plenty of people like this). It's the stupid balkan mentality at fault here.

Probably, but you cannot expect that all ppl go to work in IT... Some actually went to uni to learn and work in their field...

But most don't...They don't know where they want to go and what they want to do. At least that's the impression I got from the people I went to high school with. They just know they need to go to college, but what exactly...that they decide last year of high school.

Croatia? I've heard 50% is unemployed or something. The Dutch rate is about 3% currently.

50%? Not that much...

~4 million ppl, ~340000 unemployed and at least 1/3 who don't work and get pensions. Plus there is a big number of workers who work but don't get payed...

My country is worse than Uzbekistan -.-

Nothing wrong with the country itself if you ask me. Most countries in Croatia's region have beautiful scenery. If the goal is a society like Western Europe, I think a part of the population should pick up a more active and enterprising mentality.

They didn't. IIrc les than 40% of ppl voted. It's just that those that did vote for them have direct or indirect benefits from it, so they have the incentive to vote, while others see no reason to vote (the opposition is weak and more or less the same)...
