While browsing this freeware site i came across GameSave Manager. These are the features:
 Spoiler:

As of right now it's compatible with 745 different games. I haven't had the chance to test the restore features yet but I do need to re-install Windows and the save game files are biggest worry so finding this program will hopefully make a sometimes painful process easier.

No, I don't need it but it will scan my cpu and will back them up automatically. After I re-install Windows it will restore them to their original place automatically (so I hope). I just like the fact that it will do all of these things automatically. Anything that speeds up the process is a good thing for a lazy person like me.

Nice idea, bur my Steam folder is on a different drive and I backup my Documents folder before every format. I also back up the svaegames that go into the hidden appdata folder as well. Never let me down yet, only takes a couple of minutes and doesn't involve having extra software running.

Last count had 42 games installed.

It does allow you add games manually so if it ,for some reason, misses games that you know you have installed you can back them up as well. It did miss 11 games that I know I had installed but they were easy to add. I guess you could do that with Steam games but as of now I don't have any Steam games installed so I can't test it. I also backup my 'documents' folder but you can never have too many backups of important things.

*EDIT* I was looking at some of the settings and it does give the option to search for and backup Steam games. It looks for games using the 'Steam Cloud' or 'Steam Cache' directories. It can be turned on or off because I guess some people might be concerned about their accounts being stolen.

Resident Evil 5 save (game progress) cannot be used again once the game is uninstalled. It's a known PC issue and will prob never get a fix from Crapcom.

The program can backup registry settings too. If you do a custom entry and you know where your CD key is stored in your registry, you can do a backup of that as well.

Yes, but then when you import you import everything from the old registry, not just game related stuff.
