The graphics were wow...S.M.3.0 makes TEH difference.

Everyone liked it, so i guess it was the slowmotion all the action and the intense creepy feeling you had sometimes. It was a good game, but not AWESOME....

MMMh, SM3.0 or SM2 .0 option is just a matter of performance to execute shader programs but do not imply a gfx quality difference...

With S.M3.0 came soft shadows etc that made things look even better. Anyway, It might be me that thinks of FEAR as game with really nice gfx.
Nowdays, I prefer opengl mainly because of enemy territory preview screens. That game looks so sweet...at least in pics.

I loved F.E.A.R, gotta be honest with that. Thought the gfx was top-notch too. Can't really think of a game with better overall looks than that. Absolutely stunning!
And the feeling of it was wonderful!
Still it doesn't beat HL2...

Meh? I found FEAR really mediocre, I felt like i'd already been to those locations a thousand times before.. oh wait I have, it's a friggin warehouse and office blocks and apartments. Zzzz.
But hopefully, now that they have more $$$ they will expand thier team.

FEAR was a good FPS...... But I started playing Black now - and after 5 min, I just stopped! This is it, I've had enough of FPSs now. I'm SICK of em'.
It's the same freaking thing over and over and over again. Please, give me something new.....

same here...I played 3-4 levels in FEAR, then just uninstalled, what was really the point of the game anyway. Quake 4 after 1 level, Black 2 levels, Regiment intro, Lockdown did not bother. HL2 is the only game in recent times that I at least played over 50% of the entire game.

True. I pretty much got bored of the FPSs to a degree, so I'm leeching Empire At War. |

F.E.A.R was the most overrated game of 2005 by far.Everywhere everyone was raving about it like it was the second coming of Half Life 1 when it fact it 's just a poor FPS with decent AI and fancy graphics.And even then , just take a look at the outdoor environements in the game , they look like complete shit.Particle effects and lighting are nice though
Anyway , this is supposed to be a thread about a possible sequel so will stop ranting about the first one and will just say that it's probably going to be overhyped like mad before release only to be a big disapointement in the end.I feel it

AI was good BUT the rest sucks , looks like more money was given to develop the AI and not for the mapers and the game engine - but the game concept was great and the last two missions two but the beginig was so dull that many people simply deleted this game .

the thing I liked about fear was the realistic feeling, realistic weapons, the enviromount responding realisticly to bullet, it was just fun too shoot at stuff and glass it was so realisticly how it fell apart, and that combined to with bullet time was even more awesome, not to forget the karate kicks, though not used that often still were cool to use in bullet time

I thought fear was just doom, with an even cheesier story.
I can't fathom how people get frightened by small children, no matter if they giggle and walk through walls.
