The problem is the road...its all blocky?...ive installed the update 1.1 and its still the same... I have a Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra and all the options in the game are on or full....running in 1600x1200 32bit. WTF is wrong with you people Razz... do you spend all the time consentrating and staring at the quality of the floor instead of racing???????!!!!! Razz

Who cares if the floor is blocky, its a racing game and you dont notice it when racing...

If the Cars were blocky, then that would be a different matter Smile

i remember that problem was discussed in the old nfsu2 thread, and a solution was found. However i can't remember what the solution was, too bad the thread was lost by the crash :/

The problem is that every texture (road, buildings) except cars looks like on software renderer, and IT IS fucking annoying. If you haven't seen it you have no idea how crappy nfsu2 looks like.

Solutions which I remember:
- some people just restarted game
- try to set anizo and aa in drivers to enabled if you have it disabled, or disabled if you have it enabled
- try different drivers

I never played this game myself, but I know (and saw) that the road was indeed blocky (and the buildings idem), don't know how to solve it, since the game runned on a GF 6800 GT (128) and all options were on and on highest settings.
I think the game simply can't go any highers, since the textures aren't rendered any higher....wich wouldn't be odd, if you know how many stuff needs to be rendered while you run that game.

If many people got this problem, I think (hope) the developers will release an (Extra) High texture pack.

For me NFSU2 on PC looks like it is just ported xbox version (like a lot of games lately), and thats why it couldn't have better textures (xbox specs: 733Mhz CPU, 64MB RAM, GF3). And developers are too lazy to make 2 different versions - one for consoles, and one (better Wink ) for pc.
BUT thats not a reason for blocky textures anyway.
Thats what we are talking about (everything set to max):

Don't worry mate, I have reinstalled the game just to show how it looks like when its fucked. For me restarting the game was enough to get rid of this.

Ok, thats my config:
- ForceWare 66.93
- nView Options -> Single display
- Antialiasing set to 4x
- Anizotropic set to 8x
- Max quality preset
- V-Sync set ot off

Installed the game, set everything to max => shitty textures.
Quit, (don't remember if I restarted my rig or no), launched the game => everything ok.

Damn, I'm running out of ideas :/
Try to search other forums (guru3d, EA forum etc)
