Kazuma Kiryu thought his Tojo Clan days were behind him. He and the young girl in his care, Haruka Sawamura, have built a peaceful life from the ashes of conflict. All it took was a single gunshot to shatter that peace. Yukio Terada, the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, has been assassinated. With war on the horizon, the legendary Dragon of Dojima is pulled back into the world he wanted to leave behind.
Kiryu must travel to Sotenbori, Osaka in an attempt to broker peace between the rival clans, but Ryuji Goda, known as the Dragon of Kansai, will stop at nothing to get his war. In this world, there can only be one dragon.
Rebuilt from the ground up, Yakuza Kiwami 2 uses the Dragon Engine to update one of the series stand-out titles into a modern classic. The PC version includes all the enthusiast features you’ve come to expect: 4K resolution, unlocked framerates, customizable controls, and robust graphics options.
Play fan favorite minigames including updated versions of the Cabaret Club simulator and Clan Creator, or check out all new additions like an arcade port of Virtual On, golf bingo, and Toylets.
Also new to Kiwami 2 is the 'Majima Saga' which features Goro Majima in his own playable adventure revealing events that occur prior to the game.
I guess the success of the previous 2 releases made Sega decide to up the price a bit this time around. It will be interesting to see how much they try to charge for that DLC after the game is released.

naah the bolded is nonsense ... Kiwami 2 is pretty much new game (even thoug its remake) built on entirely new engine (Kiwami and 0 was old in comparision) ..
TBH i am kinda surprised the jump was just 10 eurobucks, the game is still 50€ on PSN

Yeah Kiwami 2 is actually the newest most technically advanced Yakuza title and uses the newest version of the Dragon engine.
0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2 is the rls and chronological order on PC for now.
I don't see a reason to deviate from that. Certainly not on a first run through the series... though I suppose I would personally start with the original release of the first (PS2) one and go from there.

If you haven't played the original series, I actually recommend Kiwami 1 first then 0 as I think you appreciate the characters in 0 more if you already know them from the first game.
Also Kiwami 1 has less content even though it has the better combat system (barring that ridiculous kiwami heat requirement for boss fights), which I think is also a problem with releasing Kiwami 2 before 6 because 6, if coming from 5, 0, or Kiwami 2, will feel pretty kinda as well.
Kiwami 1 has some small tie-ins with Yakuza 0 but either order works for my opinion and besides Majima Everywhere, Battle Buggery (Well it has a different name but the fighting game.) and the photo booth I think the Kiwami edition of Yakuza 1 is fairly slim.
It's the lesser game as the first in the Yakuza series and yeah the heat mechanic and ways around it (Chair meets head!) is also a thing during boss battles.
Was interesting for story but it doesn't hold up to Yakuza 0
Yakuza Kiwami 2 seems to have similar opinions but it also runs on a newer engine now and then for Yakuza 3 - 5 they're not getting Kiwami overhauls but seems to be holding up well on their own with some slight content changes.
Guess going from Yakuza Kiwami 2 to 6 is going to be a bit funny as a somewhat of a step down as it's the older of the two but we'll see when it hits PC and then there's the other games of Ishin, Dead Souls and also Judgement and then Fist of the North Star as a non-Yakuza game which we'll see if these hit PC. Judgement I assume is a big contender for a later port at least. Ishin I think was not localized at all and for Fist well maybe, licensing might be a thing but might work out.
Yakuza 0 as a more dramatic installment can also feel a bit off with the lighter more humorous side content but it's something that you'll see through the entire series it seems although with the severity and tone of the main game it felt even more disconnected from the rest of the games.
Yakuza Kiwami 1 has it's moments though I am a horrible person so didn't really register quite to the same extent there.
(Spoilers.)
Spoiler:
It's the human trauma train Haruka and what horrors will the writers inflict on her in this episode!
Over and over, it really never ends and it just keeps going downhill like some snowball effect beginning with a strong scene and going from there to worse.
Well the Game itself runs ok for me some dips in the 50s but that's to be expected with my aging hardware. The thing is the DOF is absolutely ruining the game for me it's really blurry and right in front of kiryu this has to be the worst implementation of it i have ever seen in any game and gives me a headache after a while.
It also seems to scale with the resolution and get's even more blurry the higher i go.
Also the ssao looks like complete shit, cut scenes look like there is shit smeared everywhere because of it it's that bad i don't know who signed this port up but this is by far QLOC's worst effort and i would consider refunding if i bought from steam itself. I sure hope this get's patched or someone like Kaldaien takes a look at it as it is it's almost unplayable for me.
Heat moments in YK2 are worse and the Heat bar is filled slowly (Yes i know, get drunked some for faster refilles).
I am seeing myself eating food here and there more than doing the main quest ==;;... Also is there a way to defend better or kick the enemies' asses faster when THEY ARE GLOWING RED?...Is there a Heat skill that i should get that i am missing like the heat skill to "Stop regeneration" from YK?...
Any suggestions to progress better are appreciated, please...

That's a pity for sure. Thankfully I still need to finish Kiwami 1 so maybe it'll patched by devs or community then.
How is it content wise comparing to Kiwami 1 and Zero?
Usual stuff.. Story (It's a bit more emotive than K) with side stories stil but you have the feeling that there's less fun when it comes to doing the Heat Moves comparing to K or 0, even as a remake.. It doesn't have the styles wich's good but then you feel like punches and heavy attacks, even when maximized, barely does a thing unless you use a Heat move onto someone..
When ya tought you'd be meeting a lot of "certain person" but in the end it's a side-quest that might seem as fun as (not so fun->) Metal Slug Infinite.. Only completionists would look into it.
There's an "Extra Story" as you progress that ya can play later on that adds more to "certain person's" story .. Google told me it's 2-4h depending of how ya play it so i guess it's worth it unelss it's some random crap..
I'm here for the story mainly tbh..

Well it's not that bad now that i found out the DOF effect is not only affected by the resolution but also the FOV setting for some reason and while increasing the resolution makes it blurrier, increasing the FOV does the opposite so at 42 its almost gone for me at 1080p. That's some quality coding
For once i've played something extra on a yarrr'd game, and that's the Extra Mode. If ya played Y0 and YK, it's a MUST to play it. The good thing is that if ya go straight to the point (There's barely nothing much else to do, honestly) it'll take ya, with cutscenes, 1h45min (There's no results screen)
Btw, for the Press Build, where's the game's savegames located at?..I must back it up...
