So I have been bashing my head against the wall trying to find out a JTAG-able 360 in our country, but sadly, no luck.

The other day, I came across an Ebay listing for a box packed Core being sold for 11k INR ($240 USD). The douche-bag selling this is, has priced it with a so-called "complementary" gift watch, which bears a price tag of around 2.5k ($50). So the console is supposed to be just 8.4k ($184), but he won't sell it without tagging this fucking watch along, labelling it as a "free" gift (moron).

My question is that I already have a modded Jasper Aracde with me right now. So would it be worth to go for the Core console and then get it JTAG'd? The problems I will face; RRoD prone Xenon, no HDMI and a bullshit pricing.

OPINIONS PLEASE!

When you see the seller is a bullshiter, stay away, simple as that.

The seller is genuine, however, the deal he has formulated is completely arsed. So my question is, let's assume he somehow re-lists the console at $184 price point, would it be good deal?

Believe me when I say this; I'm really desperate. Sad

lack of hdmi would be an issue for many

is there anything you can do with a jtagged console that you can't with the account switch trick?
other than run unsigned code and getting yourself banned

The 'account switch' hack requires us to be online, which in my case, is a complete no-no. Not only is my console modded, I have been patching my games to wave 3 for the past 1 year. So if the console gets banned somehow, I'm pretty much boned with it's warranty.

Besides that, I think relief from constantly burning DVD's, flashing the DVD firmware with each new MS firmware revision, playing stuff off USB HDD, alternate dashboards etc. seems very tempting for me. XBLA game and DLC's are my top most priority though. Razz

..so you rather get a new machine rather than mess up warranty? Smile
and it was my understanding that patched waves are detectable anyway
also, xbla/dlc/on-demand games do work off usb media on current dashboard
i'd jtag mine in a heartbeat if i could, but i don't see it as such a huge loss - not enough to go on a quest for it
especially if i'd lose all online functionality

THIS pretty much kills the whole deal imo

and like shole said, might as well get a jtag box when your old one gets banned due to using the profile trick for xbla stuff
