It seems like only the video on Youtube got mirrored and when they translated it it was actually menat to be like to original.

You can see that even all the translated signs are mirrored (which makes no sense) like the weird Ikea sign that is written with Pi.

I like how the Futurama "Swedish accent" is always something of a mix between Danish and Norwegian and they use Norwegian letters. Laughing

I hope it's on purpose.

Say, your video contains copyrighted content. That why they mirror it. To make it least appealing to people.
It's the same idea as muting or swapping audio for music videos etc

Once again I have to defend german dubs. It's one thing if you don't like them (or can't understand them) - and it's a completely different matter that people don't label their uploads way too often - but german dubs are, as a matter of fact, of a high quality.
And to be specific with Futurama here they even managed to get voice actors that really resemble the original cast to a certain degree.
And I think that's an amazing feat.
Again, it's something different that some of the jokes don't work when translated or that some might find it not as funny as the english original.

i learned english as a kid by watching cartoon network.

Worked with a guy who is german and we argued about german dubbing of movies. He said it's the only proper way to watch movies, without them he would skip the movie. I wanted to smack that derp right down.

Many people keep saying the same thing here in Italy; let's say that (approximately) on a sample of 100 italian users only 10%* of them watch undubbed movies.. Crying or Very sad

*10% is even too much.. 5-6% is more realistic :/

Well.... i allways thought the German language uses to much characters to create a fucking word. So when they have to sub a movie the text wouldnt fit on the screen.

might as well ask those 100 ppl if they understand english on a level that allows them to follow at least a michael bay movie. the answer will probably be a rather sad one Laughing

plus they're used to the dubbing so most won't accept subs.

gotta agree with reklis though, german dubs are really well done, most hollywood actors have "their" german speaker you grow used to after a while and animated movies like ice age even feature german comedians as speakers so the quality holds up.
but i still wouldn't watch any movie with a german dub as long as i have the choice of seeing the original instead.

in literature maybe, but for movies you can always dumb it down enough so it fits in

I find it borderline hilarious how people in here judge german dubs. (Not talking about dubbing in general because I know for a fact that certain countries (*looks to the east*) have really crappy dubs. Not because I understand a single word of it but I've hear some shit like one single voice for the whole movie, or you can hear the original audio track in the back and stuff like that.

What a lot of "newer" tv station do is they offer both the dubbed and the undubbed audio.
And I think that's a nice compromise.
Honestly I don't believe you'll ever see (hear) german television without dubs it's just the way we do it and the way we've been doing it since... 1945 I think.
After the war they started dubbing movies. Why? Because germans usually didn't speak english.

Just give people the choice. There were, there are and there will always be people who do not speak english (well enough to watch something in english) and since switching to subs is simply not an option (people are way too used to dubs) why do you wanna deny people entertainment? Just because they're english is not good?

see, there's the problem. if we had won the war, we wouldn't have to dub jack shit cause german would be the world's no1 language Cool Face
