What model exactly?
Look it up on google.
But yeh "HD ready" usually means 720p screens.
Corsair 750D :: 750W DPS-G:: Asus x370 PRO :: R7 1800X ::16gb DDR4 :: GTX 1070::525gb SSD::Coolermaster 240MM AIO::

HD Ready usually means 1360x768 native, capable of 1080i, at least that's what my parents' HD ready TV does (Panasonic Viera TX..something ) o_O
Count yourself lucky I guess!

It actually downscales the 1080p resolution to its native 768p. It's done to support players which cannot resample output themselves (like cheap settopps, cheap bluray players, etc). Of course, watching 1080p content which is downscaled is still preferable to upscaled 720p (notice the TV is 768p and not 720p), so still worth getting that.

google the model number = question answered
and if it is an "old" 32" I'm betting no way it's 1080p, the really wasn't the norm for 32" until maybe less than a year ago.

It probably can accept 1080p inputs, but the native res of the panel is lower.
