so i got this elite 360 with old dash, the only problem is it had rrod and i applied towel trick just to see what it has under the bonnet, it worked and it's possible jtag, i can't do it personally but there is the guy who can do this for some amount, it still under the warranty tho for about two more days Laughing

my question is if i send it to m$ will they send me back console with same dash or they gonna send the updated one, so in that case i probably can fix it myself and jtag?

anyone else had this kinda experience?

i know 2 guys who sent theirs in last year (one even forced a RROD on his 2005 box just to get a "fresh" jtag-able one Laughing ) and they came back updated.

if it's an obvious 0120 RROD that can be permanently fixed via x-clamp, i'd just go ahead and do the jtag. otherwise just send it in, then sell it and get a new jtagged one.

Anyone here with knowledge how to update a Freeboot 9199 Box with

TMS = AUD_Clamp
TDI = Tray_open

Do I have to extract the SMC and inject it or can I use the old freeboot NAND and patch it to the Kinect Dashboard?
