Theyre the main reason i consider jap games and game making to all be nothing more than a gigantic pile of shit. theyre also the reason that until 2007 i thought i hated all rpgs. the fuckers are just terrible at making games.

because i know how to read a fucking stock chart, which isn't really rocket science btw.
simply put, to make a profit on this, he would have had to buy it right at the bottom when it tanked below 1700, which only happened 2 times in the last 5 years, each in a very narrow timeframe. after adding stock broker costs, which aren't exactly low since he lets someone manage his portfolio, the best case scenario would be breaking even, which i highly doubt.
@djaoni: well yeah, maybe i should take that back.
still, trying to hurt a company by dumping their stock just because they made a shitty game isn't exactly a constructive or wise decision. on the one hand (if you really really hate them), as long as it doesn't start off a chain reaction, it's just a drop in the ocean - while on the other hand (if you're just a disappointed fanboi) it leads to a degradation of their future products, like it always does as soon as a company goes downhill towards bankruptcy and (sadly) puts mass appeal forward, rushes schedules while cutting down on the QA department etc yadda yadda

sure, the quality of their games is declining, but it's not that bad, else they would have gone out of business long ago. besides, at the end of the day, it's just a company doing its fucking business and catering to the masses responsible for the bulk of its revenue and one bad game amongst masses of (at least commercially) successful titles doesn't really matter in the long run. |
Oh, I'm sorry that my sympathy for game publishers/developers went downhill in the last couple of years.
If you, for example, running an restaurant for 20 years, everything is fine, but finally someone of your employees decides to take a shit in your daily chicken-soup... you can be sure that your business is over. But sadly, it doesn't work that way with huge companies so they'll gonna be fine.
Btw, I don't even care about the game. Never played it and don't intend to do so. I'm just here for the action and if a gaming Dev/Pub fucks up, well then I obey the calling. Ready to flame/troll/shite all over the thread. Especially if someone kicks those fucks in the balls. This guy is WIN for me because he did something *on his own* what countless people over the net never achieved via words because of the damn DERPS/Sheeps. He hurted them in the moneysack. I'm a cusader of gaming righteousness.

Square enix haven't released anything good in a long time. The fact that they joined with enix in the first place, who also haven't released anything decent in years, should have been a clue I guess. Nevermind, Atlus make the best JPN rpg's now.

Since then EVERY Final Fantasy game has been complete shit.

Unless my memory completely fails me the last Final Fantasy they did as Squaresoft was Final Fantasy X (and X-2).

and to my knowledge the only console JRPG series Atlus has right now is (Shin) Megami Tensei (Persona). And from those three imo Persona is the only good one.
Granted, they got Etrian Odyssey as well but that's not console that's handheld ;p
Just out of curiosity. Somebody tell me what the last really great console jrpg was?

X-2 was Square-enix.
and yeah I really enjoyed X for what it was.
I know its gonna have a shit story, but I loved the battle system, and I really enjoyed getting all the pieces of the celestial weapons and the hidden aeons etc...

It had a shit story and the most annoying protagonist to this very moment (though it's not as if they hadn't tried with FF13).
And you're really trying to tell me X-2 was Square-Enix?
The Squaresoft Enix merger happened on March 1, 2003.
FF X-2 was released on March 13, 2003. You're telling me that Enix already had some say in the developement of X-2 even before they merged with Squaresoft?
Just because it got released shortly after the merger doesn't make this a Square Enix game

Fair point on the first two, and yeah Tidus was annoying, but as I said I stil enjoyed the game for all the reasons I have enjoyed all the previous FF games.
I detested XII, XI and XIV hold no interest for me because I dont do mmorpg's. XIII was a fucking train wreck and it means that XV will be one of the first Final Fantasy games that I will not be buying on the day it comes out.
X-2 was a pile of shite, and yeah I concede it was Square rather than Square-Enix, but one piece of shit in 11 is not too bad.
Unfortunately since the merger its been 2 pieces of shit out of 2.

i mean sure you can try to argue which square games were good relative to each other, but if you're comparing a dog crap to a mouse turd, who cares which is better? Still means you're comparing shit to shit....
but im being overly unfair.. its not just their rpgs that are terrible to be fair...

Chrono Trigger was awesome. Stuff that they are throwing out nowdays is shit.
And selling that amount of stock is big statement. It must be making Square crazy. Judging by how their companies work, they are having crysis meeting at the moment.
