I installed the game with latest patch(non steam vs.) and i get the following error: the ordinal 459 could not be located in the dynamic link library advapi32.dll.
I downloaded the dll put in game folder and system(in system 32 there is already one but difernt size). ideas?
It seems like a OS compatibility issue, game should work on both x64 and obviously x86 (32-bit) but I've heard it's pretty badly supported, I'll try to check some more specific info but the game does have problems on newer hardware as well so it might be difficult to solve.
(If I remember correctly it had a lot of issues and patches only solved some of it.)
EDIT: Crack related perhaps if that's what you're using, I haven't found much specific info so far though.
EDIT: Seems like a compatibility issue at least, if it is protection related a crack might even work instead of as I initially thought having caused the problem due to older functions for Windows XP but that seems unlikely.
hmm strange because it works on my win7 64bit and vista 32

ok so to make it work [that's how i did it] you need 3 things :
1. splitter cell 1 DLC addon
2. Patch 1.3
3. crack [use this one from GCW Splinter Cell - Mission Pack v1.3 [ENGLISH] Fixed EXE 14-01-2004 DEViANCE]
after that it works fine

oh next time write it more clearly that your looking for help with Splinter Cell 4 :Double agent ... this one is a load of fuck on the PC
Thanks both of you... those tip dont fix my problem... i seem to be the only one having the dll issue, anyway u can close the thread ill try again when i make a dual boot with xp.
