My personal view is that religion should get a reduced influence on politics. Imo don't mix fairy tales with real life.

Cos you read the title - not the actual question. Read what it says over the answers. You always answer stuff without actually reading? Wink

Edit: I could remake this thread as the title was rather misleading I suppose Smile

Edit: Ah...your answer was the same still Smile

Religion has never brought anything good to humanity: just wars, hatred, corruption, conflicts and a mass of brainwashed sheeps who are ruining my damn planet.

i think banning is the wrong way. Making it harder for religion to have influence on politics by laws that more strongly segregate church and state would be highly appreciated though. So, i m voting for religious freedom, and no on banning.

I think it shouldn't be banned however it should be put into context.
Like, if it's being taught in schools and stuff, teachers should always remind the young students that there's no proof what so ever that these things had happened, that god may not exist, and simply that they shouldn't take it as granted.

That way the chances you'll get religious nut jobs when they'll grow up is reduced dramatically in my opinion.

That's like teaching kids about fairy tales and telling them, hey but don't take this too seriously.

I think we should teach our kids how to think critically and not to believe in some stupid fiction...

But kids will tend to believe whatever you'll tell them, especially if it involves 'magic' and stuff like that.

This is a complicated subject, since religion is still tremendously important in some countries, to many parents, hence making such a drastic change wouldn't pass nicely in most of the countries.

In that case no, I don't think we should ban it even though I really don't like religion.

Well that's your opinion, but for me it's the source of great evil and everyone who believes in 'god' is a sad person who needs some fictitious character as an excuse for their own flaws. The ppl who believe in god are sheeps who refuse to think.

And I think that ppl who believe in god are idiots.

There are so many religions in the world that you cannot reject them all just because bible doesn't make any sense.

If people want to believe let them if that makes them happy. It's a human right to believe in whatever we want. Banning religion goes against human rights in every way.

It's like banning a genre music because you like one and not the other. Let people listen to/believe what they want.

They are also people of a different time. How about limiting your smarty remarks to people who are actually alive. Smile

And when it comes to religion, yes they were both idiots then.

Newton, yes, most likely.

As for Einstein, he wasn't a christian, but rather - if anything - a pantheist.

Quote:
Albert Einstein, himself one of the founders of quantum theory, disliked this loss of determinism in measurement. (This dislike is the source of his famous quote, "God does not play dice with the universe.")

He seemed to hold on to some idea of a creator/god.
