Chemistry!
Thought this was the best way to go since I actually find chemical rxns rather interesting! Well at least more interesting than anything else I learned. And also I dont have to write papers!! (at least for now)
& I have extensive knowledge about sexual chemistry

At least it wasn't anything related to fabrication, we all know how well you do with computer cases

neon, make it a little bit bigger, dun think you got the point across to him.
I seem to remember threads of him wanting to ask a chick out for MONTHS, then he gets some awesome chick where he plays video games instead of playing with her.
real sexual chemistry there.

Well at least it's not physics, because you seem to suck in that area (amongst the others)

Oh yes I freakin hate physics! that shit is the hardest. DC circuits still give me nightmares. I have to retake it in a few months though which sucks

And you think that chemistry is in some manner easier than physics? Are you in for a surprise man! I have two words for you - organic chemistry! |
Lol Im taking organic chem right now. Its not nearly as bad as physics IMO. Just have to finish this and organic chem II and then 2 semesters of pchem and then Im done

Congrats
So after your done school, you'll get the glory job of flipping burgers lol
Seriously tho, if you read the stats for US post grads....they hardly get jobs.
When all is said and done, no matter what field, employers prefer experience.
You should have a back up plan. Like say Fork Lift Operator (1 four hour course is all it takes to get a cert for driving it) so when you do graduate, you can atleast get a decent paying job while you look for working in whatever field you've been studying so hard in.
I got a guy working in my shop who has a Master's in Philosophy. I'm teaching him to weld (on breaks and lunch sometimes) cuz right now he's just a runner (if a craftsmen needs anything ie a piece of steel cut, more welding wire/tips, blades for grinder, something moved etc, thats his job and its not well paying).
Its a shame cuz we have some good talks about things, smart guy. But apparently he can't find a job in his field (I dunno what kinda jobs are available for Philosophy ppl....teaching/think tank shit perhaps? )

Why thank you
I have no idea what to do after I graduate though, perhaps I might apply to grad school. I was debating between psychology and chemistry but I chose chemistry because I actually enjoy the subject much more than any other and also I didn't want my chemistry and math credits to go to waste lol. The only downside is I have to take calculus III next term and Im already struggling with calc II

Can a BSc in chemistry be used for anything other than a pass to graduate school (or how it's called)?

Depends on where you live and what you want. If you want a job with any meaning, you must be Master of Sciencies. A BSc says nothing more than "this man can study" here. Bachelors of Science are lost in limbo. Studied enough to get a BSc, but not long enough to be a MSc. Once you get your MSc though, it starts all over again with teh freakin PhD. So it goes on and on and on
|
Well that really depends on how specialised you want to become, and how high you want your entry level into the workplace to be. For me a PhD was essential for independent study, it's not like you can hire private space in any well equipped lab without one. It's also essential that if you intend to get a PhD in a scientific subject that you make acquaintances with individuals in the field, it makes finding a job or getting research contracts/grants a lot easier.

It's more a problem with his field than with his degree. You can't do much with a degree in Philosophy. |
True say, so many fools take degrees with no concept of how they're going to apply it in a relevant career. I mean philosophy ffs, has essentially no commercial applications, why anyone would take that as a major I don't know. Though admittedly it is extremely interesting, I took a year of classes while I was getting my biology degree.
Thankfully I knew what direction I was going with my education, which is a good thing considering it took up 7 years of my life.

MSc is considered normal here really, PhD being "the next logical step". I doubt I'll go for a PhD in the near future, but it would be very useful. As for BSc, it's practically useless.
